Game The Most Disliked Seventh Season Episode, 2025 Edition

And Favorite Son was little better, probably because of outside interference. Non Sequiteur had some promise, but it was dreadfully handled.

I think Timeless was the only Harry show that didn't suck. And maybe The Chute, but he kind of shared that one with Tom.

Saving (drum roll)...

"HUMAN ERROR".

Because the other was such a wasted opportunity to have the REAL Chakotay and Seven bond to be dating in the finale.

"NATURAL LAW" wins.
I see your "Natural Law" and rise with "Heroes part 2" - okay, that was from SG-1, but any episode, that kills off a main character in such a bad way, is worth being mentioned here. ^^

"Natural Law" is what I was rooting for! What a dog of an episode. With three episode to go in the series, I can't believe they were just doing pointless burn-offs like this. What a waste.

On the point of terrible Harry episodes, I will say that I do like "Ashes To Ashes", though. I mean the continuity issues are a problem, but viewed in isolation from that, I think it works well as it's own piece.

As much as I hated Fraiser being killed off, her death was handled well. She died saving the life of one of the wounded soldiers... doing exactly what she had been doing all of those years. Carter's eulogy helped underscore her importance and what she was about when she was listing all of the people whose lives were saved by her. (Plus, it should be noted that the producers were not sure SG-1 would be renewed again at this time. Which, ironically, was the same situation for every year since season 6... except for season 10.) I always shed a single man tear or two when that scene pops up... especially Fraiser's given name was my grandmother's.

"HEROES PART 2" was a very good episode, their 150th. One of the best of season 7.

Not just continuity.

Ballard died 10s of thousands of light years behind Voyager. So how come no one bothered to ask HOW she traveled that far to catch up to them?

The entire episode was a mess. But at least Kim Rhodes was good. She even out-acted Garrett on this one.

(I actually talked to her about this episode when I met her. She said she got real nervous during the initial filming in Janeway's quarters because she wasn't used to that production's style of filming, but Mulgrew really put her at ease. I had a great conversation with her.)

While that being true, I am not fond of this episode for the reason, Fraiser being killed off. And the rest of it, the eulogy etc. is just window dressing for the fact, that the producers didn't know, it they'd be renewed and wanted to go out with a bang. But they could've chosen so many other methods of going out with a bang. Killing O'Neill for example - in especially, if you don't know, if you're getting renewed - would've been a ballsy move. Doubly so, if you think about the fact, that Jack would be promoted to General in season 8 and this whole team-dynamic changed.

To me - okay, that's just me - this whole "Let's kill off the doctor" was just for shock value, no matter how much of "Oh, we wanted to honour the soldiers" and "there is a beautiful eulogy" you throw at it.

I'm happy that Natural Law won, though the preachy Force of Nature, or the 'comedy' The Emperor's New Cloak could have easily won too.

Human Error was such a missed opportunity to let Seven finally wear a uniform , and start dating.

I'm not sure why the producers were so scared of her developing being as they were on the last season?

Maybe someone was having a heart attack thinking people would tune out without the catsuit?

I so badly wanted to save more VOY Seven episodes but I resisted because the seventh (hah!) season episodes were so badly written even if Jeri was one of the very few still giving it her best acting efforts.

I didn’t think Natural Law was that bad as it was when Seven learned about empathy and it was start of what would become Fenris Ranger Seven and her desire to protect those that had no one to protect them. I felt this was a foundational story for her. But, then again, I think she’s the best character to come along in Trek.

This is one of those polls that really highlights the realities of the franchise: after seven seasons, each series ran out of steam. That doesn't mean that there are no great episodes or that everything ground to a halt. However, the quality certainly declines. Arguably, DS9 had the best season 7 (and given that all its episodes were saved first, there is some concurrence), but what made it stronger was the fact that many aspects of new episodes had been built upon what was written in previous seasons. The stakes had already been established; resolving them would consume most of the season. Other than introducing Ezri, there was nothing especially new.

If S7 was anything to go by, half the episodes would have been about ruddy Ezri though!

And characters acting out of character. That baseball game episode only solidified the notion that the spinoff and franchise were running out of ideas.

I'm sure baseball fans across the universe became hardcore DS9 fans afterward? (Well, maybe one or two as, statistically speaking, 0% is improbable, but 100% is even less so...)

(Now if Vulcans were on illegal substances then his emotions throughout the episode might make sense, or being a Romulan spy, but I don't recall either plot twist... granted, I just remembered a scene from something else -- if DS9 did the following, then might it have been better?

Well, no, self-parody as such rarely works, parody has to be aimed at something external...)

I don't think the characters were acting out of character. Amplified an aspect of a character? Sure, I can agree with that.

Take Sisko: we know he does have an obsessive streak in him. (Which most captains have had, honestly.) That trait is amplified here, but it's not out of character.

And the Vulcans? Vulcans have always had that arrogant, superiority streak about them. Solok just represents the Vulcan trait a bit more amplified.
