Season 4 VOY definitely added to the Borg in ways that TNG flounded, but not without its own originality. That said, VOY got a decent amount of dramatic and sci-fi life out of the cybernetic terrors.

It's also interesting how record player the Borg became. Turn on hailing frequencies and it's the Top 540 of the week hosted by Locasey Borgsum, with the same popular tune at number one, "You will be assimilated". While in the past, the Borg would use more verbiage, they did become more direct - not necessarily the script doing rubber stamp plotting to get the thing moving.

Part one was pretty awesome.

Part two continues to be a taut adventure, and while it invariably uses the reset button, this is one of those few times where it feels deserved and not as a cheap copout. Partly because of the plot structuring.

Temporal shields, check! Yup, there's that cliché movie line at the end and, of course, take out the time ship and everything acts as if it was never made - complete with cute little hook into the possibility that ooh-it-isn't-only-delayed-while-they-go-do-it-in-the-study.

Even the name, "Annorax", is a play on the British euphemism "Anoraks" (as pejorative), regarding pedantic fans of sci-fi, and most do know that the makers of 80s/90s Trek were fans of Doctor Who, a show to whom its fans are the most labeled with "anoraks" at the time (early-90s, et al). I'm going to save the ending of Voyager s4's other two-part event "The Killing Game, Part II". The series had its problems but it didn't mess around when it came to two-parters. No reset button this time, as even though all the damage is miraculously repaired we actually got consequences to Janeway giving away Starfleet technology in a later episode! They were bad consequences. Maybe she should stop giving technology away.

Leave the war outside and while you're at it leave part 1 of The Killing Game out there too. Another fantastic 2 parter in what I say is Voy's best season. Klingon Janeway is a delight and it's quite a treat seeing all the characters in different guises like Our Man Bashir and The Elysian Kingdom.

Plus you feel stakes more when you see the heroes lose. The Hirogen defeated Voyager and took it over with no deus ex machina to fend them off.

An interesting premise, but flawed: They go through the runaround of resetting every possible factor on ship, but the moment they reach Federation space, the clocks will still be wrong and they'll return and the Paxons will get all uppity again.

I'm saving Enterprise's "Kir'Shara". It's the last part of a three-parter so I can't remember exactly what happened in it and what happened in the other parts, but I do know it had a pretty good ending. Plus we got some more Captain Trip Tucker, Soval got to be a hero, and the Federation came a little closer to being born.

Next to find safety is Alien vs Predator I mean Prey by which I mean the VOY episode Prey. I love Species 8472 and this was a good part of their ongoing arc as well as the Hirogen. It started to make Voyager's influence feel more consequential barring very large Kazon territory and the Voth revisiting the greatest hits.

Back to Prey though I could definitely see Seven in this episode pulling an AVP, seeing a Hirogen bomb and being all like I hope it blows up every fucking one of them. I actually love AVP second best Alien franchise film after Aliens.
