Game The Most Disliked Third Season Episode, 2025 Edition

Impulse is saved. It's grim and the ending is depressing, but it has some good fight scenes along the way.

TOS: "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"
TOS: "The Savage Curtain"

Turnabout Intruder has a fantastic performance by Shatner as the insane Janice Lester.

Saving "Seventeen Seconds". And thus the THIRD series I save. (This is almost certain to never happen again.)

Tense episode, and the scene with Picard and Beverly when they talk alone was outstanding.

I will get in on the fun and save Discovery by removing Terra Firma part 2. Empress Georgiou was so great. And the Guardian was a lot of fun as Carl.

TOS: "And The Children Shall Lead"
TOS: "Plato's Stepchildren"

"Doctor's Orders" was a good Phlox piece, snd though I suspected the ending twist, I still remember enjoying it.

TOS: "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"

Saving "CHOSEN REALM".

Despite it being a version of "LET THAT BE YOUR LAST BATTLEFIELD", especially the ending, it was a solid episode and illustrates why religions are a bad idea.

TOS: "And The Children Shall Lead"
TOS: "Plato's Stepchildren"
TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
TOS: "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"
TOS: "The Savage Curtain"

I've been avoiding Enterprise because I like it the least. :bolian: I find the Xindi arc highly overrated.

And I'm going to keep avoiding it, for this turn at least! Saving "Plato's Stepchildren," for the sheer scale of the craziness. I can't believe the history-making interracial kiss is also in the same episode where Kirk pretends to be a horsie while a little person rides him.

TOS: "And The Children Shall Lead"
TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
TOS: "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"
TOS: "The Savage Curtain"
VOY: "Darkling"
VOY: "Rise"
VOY: "Favorite Son"
ENT: "The Xindi"
ENT: "Exile"
ENT: "The Shipment"
ENT: "North Star"
ENT: "Harbinger"
ENT: "Hatchery"

Saving Hatchery. I like the Xindi-Insectoids and Archer getting brainwashed into becoming bug mama sufficiently creepy.

TOS: "And The Children Shall Lead"
TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
TOS: "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"
TOS: "The Savage Curtain"
VOY: "Darkling"
VOY: "Rise"
VOY: "Favorite Son"
ENT: "The Xindi"
ENT: "Exile"
ENT: "The Shipment"
ENT: "North Star"
ENT: "Harbinger"

Saving "THE SHIPMENT".

I liked Gralik, and this was a good look at seing that not all Xindi were the enemy.

TOS: "And The Children Shall Lead"
TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
TOS: "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"
TOS: "The Savage Curtain"
VOY: "Darkling"
VOY: "Rise"
VOY: "Favorite Son"
ENT: "The Xindi"
ENT: "Exile"
ENT: "North Star"
ENT: "Harbinger"

Let That Be Your Last Battlefield was a bit preachy at times, but it has a very Trekkian message at heart.

TOS: "And The Children Shall Lead"
TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
TOS: "The Savage Curtain"
VOY: "Darkling"
VOY: "Rise"
VOY: "Favorite Son"
ENT: "The Xindi"
ENT: "Exile"
ENT: "North Star"
ENT: "Harbinger"

Harbinger next. Our proper introduction to the Sphere Builders and the continuing saga of the sexual tension between Reed and Hayes

TOS: "And The Children Shall Lead"
TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
TOS: "The Savage Curtain"
VOY: "Darkling"
VOY: "Rise"
VOY: "Favorite Son"
ENT: "The Xindi"
ENT: "Exile"
ENT: "North Star"

I first saw "And The Children Shall Lead" when I was a child, and found it very memorable. It doesn't stand up as well to adult rewatching (and I find children in Star Trek in general fairly poorly portrayed and used). Everyone else might hate it but I don't!

TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
TOS: "The Savage Curtain"
VOY: "Darkling"
VOY: "Rise"
VOY: "Favorite Son"
ENT: "The Xindi"
ENT: "Exile"
ENT: "North Star"

Favorite Son's true potential was ruined by studio interference, but it still had a strong beginning and a campy-fun premise. And an appearance by the Terminatrix.

TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
TOS: "The Savage Curtain"
VOY: "Darkling"
VOY: "Rise"
ENT: "The Xindi"
ENT: "Exile"
ENT: "North Star"

I have to say, I am shocked "AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD" didn't get to at least the final three. (Frankly, I was expecting it to win.) That's part of the fun of these games!

Saving "THE SAVAGE CURTAIN".

It was pretty solid, and we get the Klingon lore explored with the introduction of Kahless.

TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
VOY: "Darkling"
VOY: "Rise"
ENT: "The Xindi"
ENT: "Exile"
ENT: "North Star"

Hmmm... I must say, I really did not like the whole Xindi arc in Enterprise. However, I guess I'll take ENT: "North Star." I've always disliked the whole practice of "let's cut some corners and make the episode using the Wild West set, costumes, etc." At least the explanation was somewhat novel and not some "parallel development" nonsense.

TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
VOY: "Darkling"
VOY: "Rise"
ENT: "The Xindi"
ENT: "Exile"

Saving "EXILE". (And my fourth show saved. Wow!)

Hoshi getting a focus episode is always great because Linda Park was really good. She definitely made the most of what little she was given in the series. I'd also argue she had the best growth of all the ENT characters.

TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"
VOY: "Rise"

Well, the last to save is this one, please don't call me "pig" for doing so:

TOS: "Elaan Of Troyius"

The Klingon subterfuge and goading is entertaining, William Ware Theiss does it again in turning everyday plastic pieces into costumes that somehow work, and Jay Robinson (aka Dr Shrinker) is a hoot. France Nuyen does much with some variable-quality dialogue as well, and she has some screen chemistry with William Shatner and that helps, but this one is still not going to by on the all-time-greats list for many. The casual sexism interferes with "how alien cultures can be different" a little too much.

Ouch! But the emphasis on combat is rather fun, unlike some of the other episodes' downer moments where flagrant sexism knocks it down a notch.

Wish I could find the big action scene with Crichton the spy being found out.

Season 3 recognizing the Organian treaty to the point of having the Federation and Klingons going at risking it is a bit refreshing, though won't the glowing balls of light return? (well, later Trek forgets they existed too so I won't care...)

Classic Kirk! But don't calculate relative distance traversing comparative to location of Klingon craft when kicking in at warp two, it's a bit exaggerated...

Winner:
VOY: "Rise"
