Game The Most Disliked Fourth Season Episode, 2025 Edition

Saving ENT: "Demons". It's a worthy setup for Terra Prime, the real finale of ENT. For me, TATV is just a bonus episode, or maybe a malus one!

VOY: "Revulsion"
VOY: "Hunters"
VOY: "Retrospect"
VOY: "Vis à Vis"
VOY: "Unforgettable"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part I"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part II"
ENT: "Daedalus"
ENT: "Bound"
ENT: "These Are The Voyages..."
DIS: "Anomaly"
DIS: "The Examples"

Saving "BOUND".

I like how we learn the women are the real masters of the Orions, despite how they are called 'slave girls'.

(LDS continues this, which was great.)

VOY: "Revulsion"
VOY: "Hunters"
VOY: "Retrospect"
VOY: "Vis à Vis"
VOY: "Unforgettable"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part I"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part II"
ENT: "Daedalus"
ENT: "These Are The Voyages..."
DIS: "Anomaly"
DIS: "The Examples"

Revulsion has some good moments: Torres and Paris advance their relationship; the horror of the visiting hologram, but I'm really saving it for the Seven/Kim moments;
"Are you in love with me, ensign?"
"Well... no."
"Then you wish to copulate?"
"No! I mean... I ... I don't know what I mean."

VOY: "Hunters"
VOY: "Retrospect"
VOY: "Vis à Vis"
VOY: "Unforgettable"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part I"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part II"
ENT: "Daedalus"
ENT: "These Are The Voyages..."
DIS: "Anomaly"
DIS: "The Examples"

I don't understand how an old transporter pattern can linger in space/subspace for years, but other than that, I like ENT: "Daedalus". I like Archer's friendship with the Ericksons, the creepy transporter ghost (however preposterous it seems), and the Decepticon Scourge-like transport ship at the end!

VOY: "Hunters"
VOY: "Retrospect"

What's that keyboarding style? Something and Peck?

VOY: "Hunters"

Hunt'n'peck aside, the Maquis just blooped out of existence.

Surely is the best scene of the episode, but VOY could and did offer more for stories. Especially when, if memory serves, it'd be more fun for the Hirogen to take over the whole big ship as opposed to hijacking a teensy shuttle. Why does negotiation work when it's otherwise atypical? Plot armor.

When it comes to plot armor, the best armor comes from:

What's left:
VOY: "Retrospect"
VOY: "Vis à Vis"
VOY: "Unforgettable"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part I"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part II"
ENT: "These Are The Voyages..."
DIS: "Anomaly"
DIS: "The Examples"

There's wallpaper music, wallpaper acting, but wallpaper plotting?

VOY: "Vis à Vis"

Plot by numbers with ink-applied rubber stamp. Complete with Treknobabble. While 90s Trek started to become formulaic as early as TNG/season 5, and even with cast and ship and location change stirring things up, this one still feels... bland. Or certainly contrived, which makes it feel bland for different reasons. No worries, 40 minutes later and there's that carpet that can have everything brushed neatly under it, mind the bulge.

What's left:
VOY: "Unforgettable"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part I"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part II"
ENT: "These Are The Voyages..."
DIS: "Anomaly"

"The Examples" always drove me crazy for failing to involve Burnham's backstory. I really wish they had explicitly tied in that this character was once sentenced to life imprisonment, and had subsequently saved the entire galaxy four times (and counting!).

I'll save the last Disco and take "Anomaly" off the board. It was a nice tension builder, despite the offense of being the only Trek episode in nearly 1,000 to exactly re-use a title.

VOY: "Unforgettable"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part I"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part II"
ENT: "These Are The Voyages..."

This gamevis certainly getting tense. Stormfront part 1 will receive my mercy it set up a good mystery and I like to headcanon that J Paul Boehmer's Nazi in the Killing Game is a holographic recreation of the real one he plays here.

VOY: "Unforgettable"
ENT: "Storm Front, Part II"
ENT: "These Are The Voyages..."

Ah so These Are the Voyages takes the crown as worst of all seasons 4 outings.

It's actually fairly rare for TATV to win the games. It only won twice in the 2022-2023 cycle. And specifically "Storm Front" has found itself in the winners circle more often.

My tally of multiple winners from that cycle, just cause I think I think it makes a fun Hall Of Infamy:

QUADRUPLE WINNER
DS9, Season 6: "Profit And Lace"

TRIPLE WINNER
ENT, Season 4: "Storm Front, Part I"
(and "Storm Front, Part II" won a single additional game, so if you want to add them up that's another quadruple winner)

DOUBLE WINNERS
TOS, Season 3: "And The Children Shall Lead"
TNG, Season 5: "The Masterpiece Society"
ENT, Season 2: "Shockwave, Part II"
ENT, Season 3: "Rajiin"
ENT, Season 4: "These Are The Voyages..."
DIS, Season 1: "The War Without, The War Within"
DIS, Season 2: "Perpetual Infinity"
DIS, Season 3: "There Is A Tide..."
PIC, Season 2: "Mercy"

OK, what to post next. Maybe "Most Disliked Animated Trek"... it feels like everyone's in a race to save Lower Decks this cycle. Or maybe that's just me.:bolian:

DIS: "The Galactic Barrier" was the 2022 winner of this game. (And I was fairly happy about it then! Even though this time I actually saved it. My feelings really shift on a lot of these)
