He's thankfully long gone. Raven Metzner is now in charge.

So, they replaced Scott Buck with...the writer of the Elektra movie, who also wrote/produced for Heroes Reborn and Iron Fist Season 1, all almost universally disliked to hated superhero productions. I swear, I wonder sometimes if the DCEU people aren't secretly running Marvel's TV division.

Maybe this is just to get through contractual obligations for a second season, then they just kill him off aor just forget about Iron Fist.

I'll have to take your word for it on his credits since I never watched any of those (granted I actively avoid them). However, IMDb says he didn't start working on Iron Fist until this season, as a writer or a producer.

Yeah, I might have mixed up him being on Season 1 of IF. But I've definitely seen Elektra, and as someone who actually likes the Daredevil film (the director's cut, at least), that movie was bad. Heroes Reborn I haven't seen, but it seems to be about as disliked as the show itself was after season 1.

SDCC-- the fight coordinator for Black Panther was the stunt coordinator for Iron Fist season 2. At the link he talks about the the tone they tried to establish in the season 2 fight scenes.

Also, they screened a scene of Danny fighting Davos with both wearing the yellow masks!

Does that mean they actually had fight choreography in an Iron Fist show? Based on the clips I saw of season 1, it looked like it just used nauseating camera cuts to hide the fact that they were just flailing around. I'm doubtful that IF can be redeemed at this point, but at least it will probably be better then season 1.

It sounds like almost everyone on the creative side of Iron Fist (outside of the actors) are new, so I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic about this show. Hopefully the new creative philosophy will breathe new life into the show and bring it more in line with what we expect from Iron Fist.

I always felt like Elektra was heavily undermined behind the scenes. There was nothing explicitly bad about the story they were trying to tell (granted that I don't read Elektra comics, so can't comment in that regard), but the movie was far too short to be able to tell it well, and very cheaply made, to boot. It smacked of total lack of confidence from the executives, so I don't really blame the creatives for it.

Heroes Reborn was nothing special, but it wasn't at all bad either. It was at worst just unnecessary. Heroes had already run its course.

In any case, IF was the weakest of the netflix marvel shows, but it still had some parts I liked and the character showed real improvement in Defenders and Luke Cage, so I'm still interested to see where it goes from here.

Cool. After Daredevil, this was my favourite of the lot. Hopefully he gets a costume this time round before the next Defenders season.

The issue there really was Finn Jones' short run in and complete lack of physical fitness or prior martial arts experience, hence the intended to imply skilled violence whilst masking his relative shortcomings.

In fairness few shows (or movies) are very effective in showing martial arts, being lost in the Kung Fu movie mythos and focusing on spectacle rather than the realism (which ironically is much easier to choreograph)

Wow, that teaser is pathetic. A one-minute clip of some guy punching a few other guys in a deserted alley? That's as dull as it is rote.

All teasers are pathetic, really. I don't think I've ever seen one that wasn't just some guy punching someone or ominously saying a single phrase or sometimes even just some atmospheric music over a symbol.

It’s not even really s teaser, it’s a release date announcement with a short scene.

Aside from the fight scene inside that South Korea casino, I wasn't that impressed by the fight scenes in "Black Panther".

I haven't watch season 1 yet, but I have seen several fight scene clips, and this was already an improvement on them.
