Worst TV show of all time

I can't believe nobody's even mentioned Heil Honey, I'm Home! Possibly the strangest and dumbest idea ever to come out of a writer's room :p Watching it is the closest a man will come to experiencing childbirth.

Your Honour, esteemed jury, I present my evidence:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heil_Honey_I%27m_Home!
Heil Honey, I'm Home, part 1
Heil Honey, I'm Home, part 2
That's because shows that didn't have a full season of episodes (HHIH only aired one episode, and produced 8) were disqualified in the OP.

Besides, if we were to argue based on the stuff that didn't get a full season, then personally I think Steel Justice takes the cake.

Damn technicalities! :p

My default answer is any sitcom from the 1980s and most of the 90s. But my top 5, in no particular other, least favorites of shows I disliked:

-- Senfield
-- Roseanne
-- Full House
-- Perfect Strangers
-- Cosby Show

Really..... How could you not like the Cosby Show?

Just don't. Thought it was dull, unfunny, with average acting-- at best. Then again, in general, I don't like Bill Cosby.

Galactica 1980...
Yeah, but that's like saying "the sun's going to rise in the morning", it's just given. 1980's premise isn't actually bad, it's the execution that sucks.

I gotta go with Small Wonder. Unredeeming piece of shit.

With one exception : In one ep Vicki's family actually decided to try and make their nosy, interfering neighbors move away. I give it this small bit of cred for doing what, to my knowledge, no other super-gimmick show had ever done, namely at least attempting to rid themselves of the Bellows/Kravitz-etc. characters. Of course, Darrin and Samantha could have solved all that without magic or murder, just by putting a cabinet in front of that one window.

My nominee is an easy one : Dear John, the US version. The best cast in the worst thing you have ever seen. A doormat/buttmonkey of a lead followed by a group of inherent losers whose fortunes actually declined each week. Here's a hint of my hate : In one of the early eps, the best friend who had stolen Judd Hirsch's wife laughed and joked about it and told him to get over it mere weeks after the separation, without getting so much as a shove. What worked in Alex Rieger failed epically here.

V.I.P starring Pam Anderson.

As described in Wikipedia:

[Pam Anderson stars as] Vallery Irons, a woman who accidentally saves a celebrity and then is hired by a real bodyguard agency as a famous figurehead while the rest of the agency's professionals work to solve cases. Ironically, her lack of investigation skills ends up defeating the antagonists in every episode.

Here's my list of the wretched...I can't name just one. There are just so many terrible, terrible TV shows...this stuff is pure crap-ola on a stick:

1. Automan
2. The Dukes of Hazzard
3. BJ and the Bear (Can you tell I hated the Smokey and the Bear ripoffs?)
4. The Starlost (pure tedium and terrible production values!)
5. Project UFO (Some of the worst special effects ever to disgrace the cathode ray tube...almost as bad as the effects of The Starlost...very close. A runner-up, I'd say! Plus, two of the most grating main characters ever. TV's attempt to rip off Close Encounters.)
6. The Gemini Man
7. The Invisibile Man
8. Werewolf
9. War of The Worlds TV Series
10. Manimal (Laughably bad)
11. Hee Haw (Hick TV...say no more...)
12. The Lawrence Welk Show (Somebody please just phaser me)
13. Let's Make A Deal (Somebody please just phaser me)
14. Gunsmoke (Somebody please just phaser me)
15. Bonanza (Somebody please just phaser me)
16. Buck Rogers (Starring Gil Gerard) (Biddy...biddy...biddy...Gary Coleman...sandsquids...need I say more? Terrible. How did we make it through the 1980's with this dreck?)
17. Emergency (Somebody please just phaser me)
18. Adam-12 (Somebody please just phaser me)
19. SWAT (Can you tell I hate cop/paramedic shows?)
20. The New Zoo Review (embarassingly bad...even to a kid!)
21. Otherworld (this is what supposedly passed for sci-fi in the mid-80's)
22. The Powers of Matthew Star (Harve Bennett shoulda been ashamed!)
23. The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (I lost confidence in George Lucas because of this)
24. The New Twilight Zone (80's) (Lame beyond reason. Night Gallery retains the recordholder as last great anthology series)
25. Quincy (Somebody please just phaser me)
26. Knight Rider (Somebody please just phaser me)
27. Airwolf (TV's Blue Thunder ripoff)
28. Galactica 1980 (Good lord...why didn't they just let Galactica die with some kind of dignity?)
29. Tales From the Gold Monkey (Dreck supreme)
30. The Beastmaster TV Series (Erm...wasn't the movie bad enough?)
31. The Sinbad TV Series (Harryhausen remains the King...as he's never even come close to with this dreck!)
32. The Conan TV Series (Who comes up with this shite?)
33. Baa Baa Black Sheep (Lame. Boring. Next...)
34. Colombo (Somebody please just phaser me)
35. MacMillan and Wife (Somebody please just phaser me)
36. Scarecrow and Mrs. King (This show served as a kind of "scarecrow" for me!)
37. Murder, She Wrote (She "wrote" it far longer than it deserved...)
38. The Donnie and Marie Show (She's a little bit country...and I'm a little bit sick at my stomach.)
39. Maude (Bea Arthur...the ugliest woman ever born. Not funny. Not even REMOTELY funny. Excruciating comes to mind.)
40. Joanie Loves Chachi (The horror...the horror!)
42. Happy Days -- after Fonzie jumped the shark
43. Laverne and Shirley -- after they moved to California
44. Mork and Mindy
45. Melrose Place
46. Beverly Hills 90210
47. The New Munsters (a true abomination!)
48. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons
49. Spongebob Squarepants
50. Transformers cartoons
51. Animaniacs
52. Fraggle Rock (Jim Henson just didn't know when to quit)
53. Dinosaurs (Stupid...and not funny)
54. Nip Tuck (this show tries to see how low it can sink every week with regard to viewing standards. Hello? FCC? Are you there?)
55. The Lone Gunmen (terrible followup to the X-files)
56. Crusade (Lame followup to Babylon 5 -- much like all those lame direct to DVD movies they keep making)
57. The Muppet Babies (another true abomination!)
58. V -- The TV Series (Laughably bad. Runner up for the Spock's Brain award)
59. Sigmund and the Sea Monsters
60. Charles In Charge (It's Scott Baio. What else needs to be said?)
61. Superboy (Bad...in a "Spock's Brain" kind of way. Coincidentally...ALSO produced by Freddie Frieburger! The road accident you can't turn your eyes away from. Funny! Bad...but funny!)
62. Earth II (Steven Spielberg managed to take Lost In Space and make it semi-realistic...and utterly boring!)
63. Tekwar (Shatner's effort to prove the awfulness of Star Trek V was no fluke)
64. TJ Hooker
65. Mannix
66. Chico and The Man
67. Ark II

I loved your list Quasar (the name of my favorite cat when I was a kid was Quasar) though, some of them I did like..at the time...like SIGMUND AND THE SEA MONSTER. I loved that show!!! And TJ HOOKER isn't bad, considering Kirk/Vic Fontane and even Spock appear in it...I think Gul Dukat appears as a bad guy too...

Thanks Rob...and sorry if I trashed any of your (or anybody elses for that matter) favorite shows...

Quasar is a cool name for a cat, btw! My compliments to you for your taste in cat names...:)

I can't even bring myself to mention this show's full title. Let's just call it Two Pints... and leave it at that. :)

That Charlie Brooker/ Britannia High thing link above was damn funny! Nuking Brit High from space = not an overreaction.

I should have included two shows I constantly turn off: Seinfeld (a show about nothing with characters that sucked so bad they were nothing) and Everybody Loves Raymond (no, they don't, seriously).

There are a few on your list that cannot possibly be considered worst shows of all time and make me seriously question your intelligence & taste. Animaniacs & Dinosaurs are two of the smartest kids shows ever made. We'd be well served if kids started watching more of these shows and less of those crappy anime series that only exist to sell the tie-in collectible card game.

And while I can't truly speak for their quality now, I did enjoy Fraggle Rock & Muppet Babies back when I was a kid.

Baby Looney Toons, now there's a shitty, witless show.

I honestly think Deborah married Ray solely so she would be guaranteed to always have someone she was much smarter than. It can be pointed out that a lot of men used to do this, and some still do, but they're what we call assholes.

Scifi's 'Flash Gordon'. And what was really sad was that they played up the show using the themes and music from the much more colorful, campy, and entertaining film. This only reminded the viewers of what they were missing. Ming the Merciless turned into some banal city planner? No interstellar empire? Hopping between gates so they could have plenty of cheap episodes set on earth? W. T. F.

I just throught of another one, though it doesn't officially count for this thread: That 80's Show. *shudder*

As bad as some stuff these days is, it's still not like the 50s, 60s or 70s when you had to watch whatever was on and it was shit. These are the golden years in comparison. Gree Acres? Doby Gillis? Hee Haw? Who in the hell would ever want that crap on DVD?
