What are you watching for the first-time?

I plan on watching DS9 soon. I've seen a couple episodes (Trials and Tribble-ations and the one where Tuvok loses his memory, can't remember the episode name at the moment) but I have yet to actually watch the series.

Well... those are completely different shows. Lol.

Interesting, I’m in the camp that actually finds s1-3 of TNG its peak in a way…yes, even the first season minus 3-4 real clunkers. It’s around the fourth season that it starts to get really dull for me. The whole tone of the show changes and nowhere is this more noticeable than the shift in music. It becomes kind of…beige. I don’t like feeling this way about the show, but by the end of its run it was running on fumes.

Season 4 was where I started skipping episodes, and started having the oh, i remember this one, ugh! feeling. There were a couple in Season 3 that gave me that feeling, but there was a lot of stuff I had forgotten about that I really enjoyed, and a lot that gave me the TOS vibe. The longer the show goes, it loses that; I miss the sci fi plots when it becomes its character, morality based preachy perfect self. Geordi was more fun on the bridge, Riker was less arrogant before the beard, I loved Pulaski. Even Wes wasn't as bad as people thought, and is missed in the later seasons.

I feel like it peaks at the Best of Both Worlds, and his downhill from there. I feel like that is a good place to (mirror TOS) and stop after 3 seasons, then jump to the second movie.

I've been rewatching TOS for awhile now. It's interesting to see what I do and don't remember and how episodes hit differently now than when I was a kid.

OH MY GOD HOW DID I SCREW THAT UP I was tired as all hell yesterday. Enough so to misspell my own name, and apparently, enough so to think that some random Voyager episode was from DS9. I have in fact seen Trials and Tribble-ations and I do in fact plan on watching DS9. Thanks for catching that lmaooo

LD: Season 5 will be coming soon.

TNG: I've rewatched seasons 1-4 most often, followed by 7 and even 5, so season 6 - the one I've not really seen since the blu-ray release - might feel "new" again for some episodes... probably the ones I hated the most...

DS9: Season 7 was a real mixed bag at best, series finale excepted (that one's fantastic).
