Worst TV show of all time

The "successful sitcom" I've always hated was Seinfeld.

There's not a single redeeming character in there. They're all hyper neurotic, lying, manipulative... every bad character trait I can think of. I wouldn't associate with anyone like them, and I had no interest in wasting my time watching people I couldn't care about.

That was kind of the point of the show, and what made it funny. In fact, the entire punch line of the final episode, which not a lot of people seemed to get (but I thought was brilliant) was exactly your point - these are terrible, horrible people you all have been laughing at or with for the last 7 some odd years. How do you feel about that? Its kind of the crux of Larry David's comedy, if you are familiar with it.

...and they were largely undone by the only people more vile than themselves, the slew of supporting characters who, in an odd way, reenforced the self-centered POV of the 4 mains.

I'm caught between the two of you. I do laugh at Seinfeld, but can only take it in controlled doses. Jerry's one monlogue about that one shop in every town that's been like 17 different businesses is a true classic, though.

Indeed - in a very Holden Caulfield-esque way, they laughed at and held themselves superior than the the vile folks around them, and were only occasionally reminded that they were pretty vile themselves. Again, that is Larry David's comedic view, and is further reinforced in "Curb Your Enthusiasm", whose humor eminates from the same premise.

Honestly, that was the point and why they when to jail at the end.
It's honestly no different than the Sci-fi/Fantasy forum where everybody just nitpicks any little thing yet they all get along. Art imitating life.

Seriously, six pages on a geek board like this, and nobody remembers to add "Woops!" the short-lived series on Fox?

Having just read this on wik about a episode ...

Christmas is approaching, but it is not the same as the nuclear holocaust has ruined much of the world's evergreen tree population. While cleaning out the chimney, the group finds Santa Claus has visited the group, but appears depressed. He later reveals to the group that he is suffering survivor's guilt as his workshop at the North Pole had a fallout shelter, but the door slammed shut and Mrs. Claus and all the elves were unable to get inside. Stuart Pankin guest starred as Santa.

I would love to see it just to see if its has bad as it sounds.

I only really remember one episode ... The Thanksgiving episode. Turkeys had grown to giant sized, hundreds of feet tall. One turkey attacked the survivors; they had no hope of surviving. Until it started to rain. The turkey looked up. And drowned. They had enough food to last a lifetime then.

As cheesy as you can possibly get.

As said earlier in the thread, the fact that it's short-lived automatically means it's not the worst TV show of all time. You can't really compare nine episodes of Woops to nine seasons of Alice.

You've obviously never experienced the horror that is Woops! then. *hides behind sofa*

Has anyone mentioned "Secret Talents of the Stars"? So bad, it was canceled before the first episode finished airing. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view) I did not see it, but George Takei was in the first and only episode and it would have been interesting to see what he did.

Yes...I almost DVRd this show but forgot. I wouldn't have remembered had you reminded us just now. Would have been interesting to see...
