Bring Enterprise (the series) back via animation?

I wouldn't mind a one-off Enterprise "reunion" type (TV) movie. To give it a better ending than it had. But I personally don't need or want an ongoing thing.

So let me get this straight. You asked this:
That is correct.
And then another member helpfully provided you a link that literally answered all your questions, and your response is:
I clicked on the link, began scanning for OTOY to see what that is. The article references OTOY but does not say WHAT it is. The web-page is VERY LONG and does not provide direct answers to a simple question. I gave an honest response.
If you don't care, why bother asking the question?
I cared enough to ask, hoping for a quick answer, not a weblink to The NeverEnding Story. I feel like my response was reasonable.
To answer your original thread question, I would watch an animated Enterprise series. But I don't think it would be made, because a) Paramount has cancelled both of their current animated shows, so animation doesn't seem to be a big enough audience draw for them, and b) I doubt Paramount is going to be in any kind of rush to create a revival for a series that they cancelled originally due to lack of ratings.
You make a sound and fair argument. I hadn't thought about P+ moving away from animated Star Trek. However, regarding Enterprise, it was Leslie Moonves who wanted the show gone, the studio wanted to keep going. I may be wrong, but that's what I remember.

I think an Enterprise animated series could work, but only if it was more like X-Men '97 or maybe even Clone Wars than Star Trek: TAS. Keep the point of view to the characters we know, and make it about the roles they played in the events that forged the Federation. I mean Archer's always been right there in the middle of it all, so it'd be weird not to include him and his crew in a story like this, but the advantage of animation is that they can widen the scope, introduce more characters, and show a bigger picture than the live-action shows can afford.

I mean, that's what I was suggesting. Basically, pick up after S4 and continue the adventures of the NX-01 and crew.

Could Enterprise (the series) continue in animated form?
It can continue in whatever form Paramount wishes.

I'd rather ENT characters come back in other forms as one-offs.
You must be one of those holding out hope for T’Pol to appear on SNW.

Even then, that still just one character. The rest of your desired one offs would be time travel related, or holodeck appearances. I suppose Phlox could still be alive durng the time of Legacy, but that show is going nowhere fast right now.

The only ENT character both seen and heard since the show ended is Trip in Very Short Treks, since T’Pol, Reed and Mayweather were all background characters in that same webisode.

If the opportunity to get an ENT reunion for an animated miniseries is there, why not take it?

And if the concern is that there can’t be more than one show with an Enterprise in it, then spread the crew out to other starships. Why assume that no one would want to see the roles played by the NX-02 or other NX or Daedalus class ships? Not to mention their Vulcan, Andorian and Tellarite allies? Besides, the only ones that are canonically on the NX-01 during the war are Archer and Hoshi anyways.

That era is ripe for storytelling.

Animated would work, but I'd love to see what OTOY could do with the Enterprise characters.

Ooh! That would be an interesting watch.

These are big obstacle to overcome.

Paramount might not be in a rush, but other series is there left to mine for nostalgia? TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY have all had their moments. And DIS will have SFA very soon. Even TAS kind of has through LD and VST.

Following in the same vein as X-Men ’97, an ENT ’05 series would be something I’d watch.

I doubt that CBS/Paramount have any interest whatsoever in bringing back ENT in any form. They already had five chances to do so for live-action, and they made DSC, SNW, PIC, the Section 31 movie, and SFA instead. They had two chances with animation, and they made LDS and PRO instead. Their motives don’t seem to be to revive dead shows.

I’d love more Enterprise in any form, but realistically I don’t see it coming back at this point. There’s no groundswell for it in particular. I’d love to be wrong.

Animated would work, but I'd love to see what OTOY could do with the Enterprise characters.

They’d have them meet up with each other, then they’d all stare at each other very meaningfully for a minute or two. After some time, characters may open their mouths slightly as if they are going to say something, and then… they just won’t.

Judging by the reaction to Reunification, fans would call it a heart moving classic.

I think CBS/Paramount would prefer to do something with a chance of success. Enterprise has some fans, but there weren't enough to keep it on the air. It was the death of the Berman era.

As for "fans want to see the Romulan War"....

SPOCK: As you may recall from your histories, this conflict was fought, by our standards today, with primitive atomic weapons and in primitive space vessels, which allowed no quarter, no captives. Nor was there even ship-to-ship visual communication. Therefore, no human, Romulan, or ally has ever seen the other.

I first heard those lines in the 1970s, and they were always enough for me.

And if they were to depict the war now, it would look nothing like how Spock described it.
Wouldn't be that hard to depict. Stuff like the NX-01 is primitive compared to a Constitution Class. Plus, you could have a bunch of stripped down Daedalus class doing most of the fighting with Spatial Torpedos and no transporters on board. The Romulans also didn't wanna talk or allow themselves to be taken prisoners, so they self destruct. Boom. You got your Romulans War being pretty much as Spock described it.

I wasn't so much talking about the ships they would use than the way the war would be depicted.

It'd certainly be possible to do it like Spock described it, but they'd choose to depict it differently.
