That is correct. So let me get this straight. You asked this:
I clicked on the link, began scanning for OTOY to see what that is. The article references OTOY but does not say WHAT it is. The web-page is VERY LONG and does not provide direct answers to a simple question. I gave an honest response. And then another member helpfully provided you a link that literally answered all your questions, and your response is:
I cared enough to ask, hoping for a quick answer, not a weblink to The NeverEnding Story. I feel like my response was reasonable. If you don't care, why bother asking the question?![]()
You make a sound and fair argument. I hadn't thought about P+ moving away from animated Star Trek. However, regarding Enterprise, it was Leslie Moonves who wanted the show gone, the studio wanted to keep going. I may be wrong, but that's what I remember. To answer your original thread question, I would watch an animated Enterprise series. But I don't think it would be made, because a) Paramount has cancelled both of their current animated shows, so animation doesn't seem to be a big enough audience draw for them, and b) I doubt Paramount is going to be in any kind of rush to create a revival for a series that they cancelled originally due to lack of ratings.
What did you think of the series? Yay? Nay? Indifferent?
I mean, that's what I was suggesting. Basically, pick up after S4 and continue the adventures of the NX-01 and crew.I think an Enterprise animated series could work, but only if it was more like X-Men '97 or maybe even Clone Wars than Star Trek: TAS. Keep the point of view to the characters we know, and make it about the roles they played in the events that forged the Federation. I mean Archer's always been right there in the middle of it all, so it'd be weird not to include him and his crew in a story like this, but the advantage of animation is that they can widen the scope, introduce more characters, and show a bigger picture than the live-action shows can afford.
It can continue in whatever form Paramount wishes.Could Enterprise (the series) continue in animated form?
You must be one of those holding out hope for T’Pol to appear on SNW.I'd rather ENT characters come back in other forms as one-offs.
Animated would work, but I'd love to see what OTOY could do with the Enterprise characters.
These are big obstacle to overcome.I would watch an animated Enterprise series. Following in the same vein as X-Men ’97, an ENT ’05 series would be something I’d watch.I think an Enterprise animated series could work, but only if it was more like X-Men '97 or maybe even Clone Wars than Star Trek: TAS.
I doubt that CBS/Paramount have any interest whatsoever in bringing back ENT in any form. They already had five chances to do so for live-action, and they made DSC, SNW, PIC, the Section 31 movie, and SFA instead. They had two chances with animation, and they made LDS and PRO instead. Their motives don’t seem to be to revive dead shows.
If Star Trek: Origins happens it's either got to be Enterprise-adjacent or it'll totally ignore it.At best, I could see something being Enterprise adjacent.
Animated would work, but I'd love to see what OTOY could do with the Enterprise characters.
SPOCK: As you may recall from your histories, this conflict was fought, by our standards today, with primitive atomic weapons and in primitive space vessels, which allowed no quarter, no captives. Nor was there even ship-to-ship visual communication. Therefore, no human, Romulan, or ally has ever seen the other.
I first heard those lines in the 1970s, and they were always enough for me.
Wouldn't be that hard to depict. Stuff like the NX-01 is primitive compared to a Constitution Class. Plus, you could have a bunch of stripped down Daedalus class doing most of the fighting with Spatial Torpedos and no transporters on board. The Romulans also didn't wanna talk or allow themselves to be taken prisoners, so they self destruct. Boom. You got your Romulans War being pretty much as Spock described it.And if they were to depict the war now, it would look nothing like how Spock described it.
