This is the best episode of the Season for me so far. That said, since it IS Streaming, I wish they'd offer a ,non-censored' option so that they don't bleep out all the cussing that they deem 'not family friendly'. Considering the content level of some past STLD episodes, I don't get the need to 'bleep' as much as they do.

Hello TrekBBS Friends, it is time once again to ask my weekly question:

Is there anything in this episode I need to be forewarned about regarding gratuitous sex or violence to the degree where it would be irresponsible to watch this in the company of my ten year old daughter, who enjoys watching the show with me?

I dunno, I think having the **bleeps** kinda make it funnier.

It's not a need; it is part of the comedy.

It was ok. Nothing really special IMO. Felt pretty standard to me. The cold open was a nice nod to the TNG ep "Masks". It was neat to see the engineers constantly trying to engineer a solution for everything. I thought it was a bit dumb that Mariner, Boimler and co did not think to share the quarters and basically gave it up for nothing. he holodeck scene with the bank robbery was funny, probably the highlight of the ep for me.

And was the alien leader of Dove with the 3 arms, an alien from TAS? She looked familiar.
Edosian like Arex and the medical anomaly ship guy from s1

cuteness overload with puppies like in my avatar XD

Easily my favorite episode of the season so far!

  • the "only" human affecting hallucinations and results/visions
  • Anti Grav Boy Boimler :guffaw:
  • the Shanks and Tana or should I say TandA - holodeck stuff
  • engineers being enigineers, g*damn Gordi LaForges :guffaw:
  • the alien relaxation lady stress smoking

Mariner being Mariner
  • not that mask thing again - for the 3rd time this month :guffaw:
  • pointing out bold Boimler getting himself killed
  • fears of getting kicked out of Starfleet
  • Mariner in underwear :alienblush::drool: :adore: > need an ice cold shower (hotness)

This needs to be a Lower Decks meme shared across the land.

An absolute snore-fest. The joke with the mask at the beginning was good, but the stress/engineer team subplot was stupid and ended really lazily, and not in a funny way. The main plot could have been ok but wasn't pulled off well, and having the show pointing out its own plot hole doesn't make things better.

I really hope we've gotten past the rough bit and the rest of the season gets back to the show's normal level of quality.

Felt like they got too wrapped up it getting their own rooms to consider it, whereas the Delta shift guys were already going to a lot of lengths to get the room.
That's what it was, and they kind of said as much. I guess it's just kind of missing the forest for the trees, which is fine, because that means they still stay on the lower decks, where they belong.

There was a Battlestar in the background. I think we've seen a Battlestar in background shots of this show before.

I actually prefer they stay in the bunks since it’s kinda their thing but it seems unrealistic that Mariner especially wouldn’t have figured out they could share quarters.

the Shax/T’Ana stuff was good and the Ransom/Churro stuff was just so random.

Loved the deviant line about someone that would prefer kittens to puppies.

Glad they aren’t dropping “bold Boimler”

8/10

Just rewatched the episode because I missed the Bold Boimler stuff and that was a lot better the second time around. In fairness to me I saw this episode when I woke up this morning and I've been dealing with COVID all week so I'm not entirely all there, but this episode made much more sense on the rewatch. I also missed the whole Churros gag, which was incredibly random but it's Ransom so I'm not surprised. I did love the idea of the way engineers de-stress is to actually engineer solutions to problems (Something Miles O'Brian said to Worf in the episode The Ship) and that worked really well. I still think the Beta Shift/Delta Shift rivalry is very Season 1, but this episode gets much higher than a 5. I would say maybe a 7.
