They did? The Andorian warship was introduced on Enterprise some ten months before the Nu BSG miniseries premiered, and there is more similarity between the Andorian warship and Nu Galactica than with classic Galactica.

So John Eaves (the designer) says.

Another, much less thin design John Eaves proposed for the Andorian battle cruiser was shaped like a rocket and had two distinct inspirations: a World War II seaplane and the Battlestar Galactica, the reimagined series of Battlestar Galactica starting to air about the same time as the Andorian vessel was being designed. "I think subconsciously the main body is a little bit of the Galactica flipped over on top and on the bottom, with some weird looking engines."

I wouldn’t mind seeing concept art of his first design, described as looking like a manta ray with antennae like the Andorians.
Andorian battlecruiser concepts from the Eaglemoss Kumari mag.

Yeah, I think Eaves is definitely misremembering things. Cease Fire, the Enterprise episode the Andorian warship was first seen aired in February 2003 meaning all the production work, including designing and rendering the warship would have been done in Fall 2002. The BSG miniseries aired in December 2003, meaning if any work were being done on it in Fall 2002, it would only have been in pre-production. There's no way Eaves could have known about Nu Galactica's design when he was designing the Andorian warship, and indeed his claim that BSG was "starting to air about the same time" as he designed the ship is completely wrong.

Everything outside of the quotation marks is from Memory-Alpha, not Eaves FYI. He could have been referring to the OG Galactica, it was only memory-alpha mentioning NuBSG.

I guess an Andorran ship makes more sense than the Galactica. Interesting that the Galactica was an influence in the Andorian ship design.

It's also interesting that Andorians and Vulcans still have their own ships.

Fair enough. I'm only going by what I read. As has been said, Eaves subconscious could have been remembering the old Galactica. There is a resemblance.

Anyway, that's all I got.

From TNG Unification. From DS9 For the Cause.

Also, although we do not see the exterior, the interior of a Vulcan ship is briefly seen in DS9 Vortex.

I always found the Unification ships interesting because of their similar profile to the D'deridex... presumably Sela chose them as they might remind the Vulcans of their shared aesthetics? But then that does mean the Romulans saw something in the design - which the Vulcans use as a mere transport - that they found inspiring and awesome enough to style their primary battleship after it.

And the "Unification, Part II(TNG)" ships also have a semi-ring shape which can be said to hearken back to the ENT designs of the Pre-Federation Era and also connect to similar ringships still used in the LD timeframe.

A little better, but not good enough. A 7.5. I did like the moments of exploration of the bowels of the Cerritos, including the "swamp". And, I especially liked how Orions are not just green-skinned humanoids, with Tendi not being affected by the depleting oxygen levels when compared to Mariner and Boimler. Still, overall, I was entertained, so I am looking for more LDs episodes. I just hope that those episodes get better...

Yeah, It was better. I didn't laugh but I did enjoy them exploring the ship and showing things only mentioned or hinted at in Trek lore.
