I spotted what appears to be an actual phaser BEAM in the trailer, not a pulse, but a beam!
The smaller shuttles/attack crafts are firing pulses though.

My guess is Tyler is going to come swooping in to save the day with Klingon ships from Boreth.
Do we think we've seen the last of LRell? I can imagine that her flagship and a few other S31 ships get dragged into the future/wormhole. Her ship gets destroyed taking out Control ala Caretaker.

Wasn't one of the first rumors for Discovery that it will be a Klingon/Federation joint crew? And Discovery currently only has a skeleton crew...

I really could do without seeing another klingon for a long time, except timekeeper guy. he's cool

Not a lot to unpack there, I'm guessing that's all first ten minutes stuff. Whatever they find on the other side of that wormhole I guess we'll have to wait and see!

It's a bit too similar to the Marquis and Voyager, but I'd love to see that happen. Voyager had all the ingredients to be something special. It didn't quite get there, but maybe Discovery can put that right.

Tenavik might be one of the those who ends up in the future. He could be a bit like the Reverend Behemial in Andromeda.

The blue beam is coming from Discovery and red is coming towards Discovery.

So I'm guessing Spock is in a shuttle craft because he needs a plot reason not to disappear into the future...

Either that, or the "future arc" is just a one-and-done thing, and then Spock will be reunited with the Enterprise after Discovery's third season is over. Though that doesn't work in terms of timing at all if a Pike spinoff is in the works, and it's hard for me to believe they'd do it without Spock.

It’s clear he’s sticking around in the present when Burnham is going in. He’s urging her on from the shuttle, which he’s probably using to disarm or dislodge the torpedo that is stuck in the saucer section.

Is this the first season of Star Trek where there is only a single episode with space combat?
TNG S1 only had one episode with out-and-out space combat, namely The Arsenal of Freedom. Other than that, the nearest we got was the Ferengi taking a couple of pot-shots at the Enterprise before both ships got immobilized in The Last Outpost, and Picard's attempt to attack the Enterprise in The Battle, which failed before he even got a single shot off.

I doubt it. I think the battle will be the majority of the episode - with a running clock until Tilly's device works, Spock having to go out in a shuttle to save Burnham personally, everyone needing to save the Enterprise from that weird photon torpedo, Leland personally boarding the ship... and on and on and on.

Once Burnham (and the Discovery) go to the future, I expect everything being neatly tied up super fast - future Burnham creates the 7 signals everywhere and everytime in one swoop as a pre-destination paradox, including one near the battle (which leads the Klingons there or something), and another one where she (and the Discovery) expect to be picked up - only for something to go wrong, a tiny particle of "Control" being hurled back in time to create the Borg, and Burnham, the Discovery & crew to land in whatever timeframe the creators chose season 3 should take place in (either concurrently with Picard, back where they came from, or the very far fall-of-the-Federation future).

I think Disco is heading into Voyager/Andromeda territory.

Year of Hell VOY with actual consequenes and without infinite shuttles, or a holodeck. Love the mixed crew idea.
