Spoilers Skeleton Crew [Spoiler Discussion]

Yet, we might be getting the Risa workplace comedy series, which I'm assuming would be focusing on a resort's civilian staff.
As for Star Wars, I think that is true for at least some people.

Not at all surprised, given he's usually lending his voice to minor roles in these things. I honestly should've clocked it sooner since there was something very familiar about that voice; and by that I don't mean that it sounds like Sam Witwer, but some other very notable pirate character that I can't quite place. Witwer is after all a fantastic mimic (his Palpatine has always been second only to the man himself, and his EV-9D9 was flawless), so I'd be curious to find out who he modelled his performance after!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it may have actually been Earl James Boen's (yes, the one in the Terminator movies!) performance as the Ghost/Zombie/Demon Pirate LeChuck from the old Lucasarts Monkey Island games! Not saying it's impossible for Witwer to have come up with the voice on his own, since it's that same West Country accent that almost everyone uses for stereotypical pirates, and IIRC goes all the way back to Robert Newton's turn as Long John Silver. I'm just saying a Monkey Island reference feels pretty on-brand for both Witwer and this production as a whole!

I just binged this. It was merely ok. It entertained me, more or less. I kept hoping in the last episode or two that there would be a "redemption arc" for Jod Na Nawood, but alas, no.

Yeah, not redeeming him was a lot more unexpected and more interesting.
We can add Tak Rennod to the list of characters portrayed by Sam Wittwer.

I had no idea that was Witwer, or that he'd done so many different characters, I thought he was just Starkiller, Maul, and Palpatine. I forgot he was also The Son, and I had no idea he'd done so many one off and background characters. I'm kind of amazed he hasn't popped up in live action anywhere yet. If we actually see The Son in Ahsoka I wonder if they might bring Witwer in the play him?

If The Son shows up in live action, I'd say it's almost a certainty Witwer is doing the voice. The physical performance it a little but tricky considering The Son is over seven foot tall.
Not that Sam is short by any means (pretty sure he's in the six footer range) but that extra height means a lot of him standing on boxes/co-stars standing in ditches, forced perspective low or high-angle shots, comped wide shots, and other sorts of trickery to sell it. It might be more practical (for a TV budget) to have a Doug Jones type physical performer who's tall, slender and dance/mime trained to do the on-set performance and have Sam loop all the lines.

As for how much Witwer has done, put it this way; he's been employed by Lucasfilm in one capacity or another every year for the past . . . what must be creeping up on 20 years! If you hear a Stormtrooper (especially a pair chatting about T-15's or similar) in any new media then that's almost certainly Witwer and/or David "Proxy from Force Unleashed" Collins. I already mentioned EV-9D9's appearance in 'Book of Boba Fett' (Hamill played her in Mando, incidentally), he also voiced the Rodian that was chained up with Boba at the Tusken camp, the Shoretrooper that arrested Cassian on Niamos, a New Republic Pilot in 'Star Wars: Resistance', the "Voice of the Dark Side" on that 'Jedi Temple Challenge' kid's show (that also gave us Ahmed Best as 'Kelleran Beq'), he was the off-camera Alderaanian trooper that screamed "Open Fire!" in the Rogue One corridor scene, and likely a bunch of random background voices that nobody has even spotted yet.

Interestingly he's even in the "Special Thanks" credits on the Kenobi show. Apparantly he was brought in for some kind of advisory capacity, but he doesn't seem to be allowed to discuss the details for whatever reason.

One thing that always confused me a little is his showing up playing several random no-name characters in the Rebels episode 'DUME'. Not that it's unusual for a guest star, or even a main cast member to do some no-name randos, union rules on additional roles being what they are (pretty sure all the principles on Clone Wars got to play a Tactical Droid at one point or another). It's just that there's not guest starring role for him in that one. I've often wondered if they originally brought him on for that batch of episodes to play Palpatine again, either because they weren't sure they could get McDiarmid, or just to have him there in the room to play the role for the other cast members (Filloni likes to record as many of them together at once as is practical), knowing full well Ian would be recorded seperatly later on. But that's all just speculation. Could just be as easily been a last minute stand-in for some other background player that couldn't make the session for whatever reason.

Oh I forgot The Son was supposed to be that tall. I looked through Witwer's Wookiepedia page before my last post, but I wasn't sure who those one off characters were. I like Witwer, so I'm happy to see him getting consistent work like that.

Marv over on the blog Numidian Prime has mapped where At Attin is.

Apparently the coordinates they find at Rennod’s hideaway do match up with the galactic coordinates system that has been used since the early 2000s.

The whole blog post is worth the read but here's the summery at the end
The fifth episode pulls all of this information together when the crew finally discovers At Attin’s coordinates in Rennod’s old base, with the holographic display giving the grid N-6 and the coordinates 285.91, 375.30, 019.82. Comparing this to the map gives us a location situated right between Port Borgo in M-6 and the northern edge of the Hydian Way. I always love to see puzzle pieces fit together! Some other notable planets in that vicinity include Aldhani (which was ironically mentioned by SM-33 when he was attempting to figure out what planet the kids meant at first) as well as Mandalore and Dathomir, two planets important in the other shows set in this time period.
