NHL Play Off Prediction thread

I am dying right now watching this game. So many chances for both teams.

I am really hoping this doesn't end up in OT. My heart just can't take it.

That was an outstanding game. I was glad to see Malkin win the Conn Smythe, and to see Bill Guerin lift The Cup again. He was a key acquisition for the Penguins.

Sincere congratulations to the Penguins and to the city of Pittsburgh, capturing a second professional title in the same year!

:techman:

:beer::beer::beer:

That's all I can muster for now.

FUCK Ty Conklin and FUCK Marian Hossa. LOL.
Don't hold too much of a grudge against Conklin. He probably would have remained in Pittsburgh, but Hossa's delaying tactics meant that Shero couldn't sign any players until he knew if Hossa was staying.

Fuck the traitor Hossa, though.

Thank you. It feels good to be a Pittsburgh native right now. The Steelers and Penguins have made us proud.

In highsight, Hossa made a terrible decision. It sucks to be him right now.

I thought Fleury could easily have been the playoff MVP, but Malkin is most deserving. Bylsma should be not only Coach of the Year, but Coach of the Decade.

It was great seeing Mario hoist the Cup up in the air again.

Detroit deserves great praise for being such a great & talented team. They are arguably better than the Pens, but it isn't who's better, it's who wins 4 games first.

Awesome. :D :D

To come back and win 2 in a row following the meltdown in game 5 says a lot about the organization.

Did you catch that Crosby is still living with Mario? That's a great hockey tradition where the veterans mentor the younger players oftentimes by letting them live with them.

Yes, I heard Mario say that tonight. It's so cool that he's made Crosby part of his family, literally, and that he's welcome to stay as long as he wants.

I believe Gonchar is that way with Malkin, too. When you have a young zillionnaire player living far from home, it's great to have a mature stable mentor to live with AND, more importantly, keep him out of trouble.

I thought it was also interesting to hear Crosby being asked if he thinks the Pens can repeat next year. Hell, the Pens barely made the playoffs this year. That just shows how much parity there is in the NHL. Any one of a dozen teams could have gone all the way this year, maybe more. It's all a matter of which team peaks at the right time.

Right now, Detroit should get an angry beating from their fans.

They have greatly disappointed us. They did not play as well as they should have the last two games and that is why I am not surprised at the result.

Pittsburgh deserved the win because, even though they didn't play as good as they could, they were still not the team people thought would win. They were the underdogs. Detroit has more talent and more experience and they didn't show that tonight.

They have failed us....but I still LOVE THEM TO DEATH.

Yeah, Detroit didn't look all that good at the end. They picked up the intensity a couple of times, but, at home, in game 7, they should have had that intensity all the way through. Credit to Fleury who played a hell of a playoffs (minus one game).

Great game 7. Well deserved and just well played, by both teams. I just hope next year we get two new teams to play in the finals...like the sharks. :scream:

I feel a Cup run coming from the Blue Jackets in a season or three. They have a hell of a young core to work with.

How 'bout Leafs vs. Blues? Now there are a couple of teams looooong overdue for a trip to the Finals.

hahaha, oh man, I hate the Leafs with a passion and I live in Leaf country. They'll never win in the next 50-100 years so I feel great.
