Season 1 was brilliant, Staged was inspired. These two go together, in any kind of weather.

I can't wait! It's going to be soooo much fun!
People frequently say "I could listed to xxxx read the phone book", but that's completely true of these two.

I really miss Michael in Prodigal Son. He did a great psychotic serial killer. I wish another outlet had picked that show up after (feigned surprise here) Fox cancelled it.

This one kind of snuck up on me. I remember watching season 1 and thought, "This show is amazing! I wonder if there will be a season 2?" and subsequently reading that one of the creators (Pratchett) died before the series was made (2015) and that a continuation was unlikely. Didn't help that S1 pretty much ended as a self-contained series, so I stopped paying attention. And now we have this!

It's been a while since I watched it. I think I'll have to refresh my memory on this one and do a binge.

Wasn't S1 based entirely on the one book Gaiman & Pratchett wrote in 1990?

The generally accepted obstacle to a S2 was that there wasn't more source material (at the time).

Yup, that's correct.

Neil and Terry did work on an outline for a second book, which would be the premise for a possible third season. This season is acting as a bridge between the two (which has some Terry material). Part of the reason for that is because the big outline has less of Crowley and Aziraphale and the bridge's purpose is to set-up the third season and get the viewers accustomed to the new characters so they won't be so upset by less Tennant and Sheen.

I liked the first season, and I'm definitely excited for the second, but less Tennant/Sheen means I probably wouldn't watch a potential S3, since honestly I'm watching the show for their characters more then the plot overall. The weakest part of Season 1 was the characters that weren't Tennant/Sheen, and I don't see that changing. I also don't have a high opinion of modern Neil Gaiman's writing or adapting ability, Tennant/Sheen are basically holding this whole show on their backs as far as I'm concerned.

I didn't know any of that, I had just assumed this was something Gaiman had made up entirely on his own just for the show.
Anybody here ever watched Neil Gaiman's storytelling Masterclass? They've got it on Hoopla and I've been thinking about checking it out. Both as someone who's dabbled in writing, and because it could just be an interesting look at his creative process.

"Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle."

Well if you can trust the guy who worked on the Netflix Sandman, more power to you. I'm just glad that Good Omens was the exception to Gaiman productions having garbage casts, in retrospect its outright shocking we ended up with literally perfect casting for the main two characters in Good Omens and not, for example, Andy Dick and Pete Davidson playing the roles of Aziraphale and Crowley, which would be more in line with The Sandman's quality of casting.

Anyway I'm still excited for a season 2. It won't be as good as Season 1, because Season 1 had the benefit of story and some dialog/etc coming from Terry Pratchett, who was always in top form. But even a modern Neil Gaiman can still have his work be saved by the duo of Sheen & Tennant.

I managed to find S1 on blu ray. Were these a limited run or MOD? There were all of two options for Region A on ebay, and I went with the "buy it now" for $66.

Unless it's the "BBC is always massively overpriced" thing? Still very hard to find tho.
