LDS: "Second Contact" was a VERY refreshing beginning to a new Star Trek series. While it can be a little much now and again, SC was a wonderful introduction to the characters and the set-up of the show. Rutherford & Tendi were instant faves for me - I love their optimism and enthusiasm - and Boimler being suckled by the spidercow is never not funny

Back before the ever-availability of home media and streaming, getting episodes of favourite programmes was hit-and-miss so the arrival of TAS was definitely a Yippee! moment. A sound ST episode plus animation meant that we got truly alien bridge officers in the form of M'Ress and Arex

Great opening for season 5. Nice twist of the Changeling being Martok, which paved the way for the real, awesome Martok later that season. And seeing Sisko as a Kkingon was a treat. You can tell he was enjoying that.

Picard pretty much always hit home runs with the premieres, so I'll next save "The Star Gazer." Honestly, they could have run with this for the whole season, the Stargazer and Captain Rios and his spiky dynamic with Agnes, so good. The return of Whoopi Goldberg was also a particular thrill.

I'm down to "best remaining" rather than episodes for which I have strong positive feelings. "Lost and Found" was dfferent from much of Star Trek - and none the worse for it. It was a good setting-up of the overall story and a believable answer to the question as to how a miscellaneous collection of children ended up on a very advanced starship.

I have always adored Voyager's "Basics" two-parter, despite how trashy and filled with plot holes it is. But does it ever take me back to the 90's, just with HOW MUCH it is. Volcanoes and lizard monsters and cavepeople! One outrageous threat after another.

And it finally dispenses with the Kazon. Was I ever ready for them to be gone.

Wow, lots of good episodes still left to pick from in that list. But Picard's Remembrance was particularly good I thought. I may change my mind about it on a rewatch, but when it came out it was my favourite Trek series premiere, and it was nice to see what happened next for the Next Generation era.

Finishing off DS9 by saving "IMAGE IN THE SAND".

This was one of the quietest season premieres in the franchise, but it worked beautifully because it got three major plots going at once. (Four if you count the Damar and Weyoun scenes as a separate thing, giving us the villain's perspective.)

DS9 always handled multiple stories within the same episode very, very well.

(I do have to say... Joseph Sisko, your reaction in how you said "There's nothing going on" with that picture of Sarah was the most unconvincing way you could have gone about it. Of course, Ben was going to push forward with you on this. )

I'll save "The Broken Circle." It's nice to see SNW's repair job on all the damage Disco did to the Klingons. I loved the confidence of the premiere focusing on the supporting cast, and leaving Pike and the Una cliffhanger mostly alone for a week (though I went on to be annoyed with the full season for not having enough Pike, but it was fine to start with!). Carol Kane has a fabulous character intro.

I'm probably close to having to drop out of this game. Six of the remaining episodes, I haven't seen at all. I don't really feel that "I watched it" should be the sole grounds for saving something - it seems rather unfair on those unwatched spisodes.
