I read it.The show's creator has specifically said that they will be doing their own story that ignores Prometheus and Covenant.

Keeping that 70s vibe, I see.
First clip from Noah Hawley’s #AlienEarth seriesReleasing this Summer on Hulu
I believe that is called "Highlandering" things.I would rather not see Alien ending up going down the Batman route or becoming something like the mess that is Halloween. Where you just choose to ignore some of the preexisting movies but not others.
Love the look. I hope the story is strong and not just played for gore.Keeping that 70s vibe, I see.
Ironic that Star Trek changed its visual continuity drastically the year the first Alien movie came out.Funny how Sci-Fi shows can maintain their visual continuity for decades but S'Trek had to be redesign the lot.
How? XDIronic that Star Trek changed its visual continuity drastically the year the first Alien movie came out.
There is time, use of practical effects and budget. The original series is a 60s TV series made with the budget of a 60s TV series. TMP is a big budget 'feature film' visual language and the narration is in 'cinema' language. The first film was shot for 44 million dollars at that time, that money is now 192 million dollars.Ironic that Star Trek changed its visual continuity drastically the year the first Alien movie came out.
how did tmp change errand? (the word is continuity, right? maybe you mean something else instead of continuity...)Watch TOS -- for example, "Errand of Mercy" -- then watch TMP and get back to me.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but I always wondered why didn't they get John Colicos to reprise as a Klingon in TMP. Mark Lenard was cool, but Colicos could have been cooler.
AvP 2004 called, they want their script back.
First look at ‘PREDATOR: BADLANDS’The film follows an outcast Predator and aims to answer the question “What if The Predator was a good guy?”
The first trailer for ‘PREDATOR: BADLANDS’ reveals a Predator going on a hunt across a bunch of gorgeous-looking planets.
Elle Fanning reveals an unprecedented plot twist: Her character teams up with the Predator. First teaser looks pretty badass, love the alternate Predator look.
PREDATOR: BADLANDS does a first in the franchise in that we actually see yautja hunt alien beasts and other foes on wildly bizarre planets. The main yautja is seen taking on a giant ass kaiju-beast all by himself. Lots of new tech on display. Looks fucking awesome.
I know right? We saw it on screen, twice actually. Once in AvP, once in The Predator. Was thinking the same thing. And that exact same plot line came from an early series run of the original Dark Horse AvP comic book.
Agreed 100%. Anytime's face should be the standard, stop adding stuff to it.I hope we get a proper Predator face again. Stop trying to re-invent the wheel, ya'll.
