What storylines do you NOT want to see in Trek?

A lot of things people say they don't like I'm actually ok with, like mirrorvirse ep or show, time travel, other dimensions ect. I'm even ok with making trek more dystopian (not full on) but less utopian.

Just off the top of my head I wouldn't want the writers to do the following story lines:

I'm tired of secret children and siblings (looking at you Picard and DIS). I'm not against a show on Spock after Kirk died but I liked the story ending with Kirk's son dead and Spock not having any. That way they don't try to shove either of their descendants into future stories (ie star fleet academy)

I wouldn't want to see them have T'pring going into Pan Farr and Spock not showing up (with her turning to Stonn), being the reason she later rejects Spock. I know it's suppose to be the person you have a mental link with they it could always retcon it.

I don't want the spore drive popping back up for what ever reason

Spock being married to Saavik. I still REALLY wished she was the traitor and personally saw her more as Spock's adoptive daughter then a romantic partner that some novels went with.

I don't want any more 'magic' medicine. If you've seen the SNW S 3 sneak peak you know what I'm talking about.

I have others but after writing it down it's actual more things I'd want (like making the ships / crew / academy more military vs it feeling like a luxury hotel in space and how they've made the academy more like college. Also wish that's get more accurate with science and make up their mind on if they have money or not)

Stories that focus on the "dark side" of Starfleet/the Federation/Section 31/whatever to a very high degree.
I am not against dark storytelling on occasion, but I don't want to see a bunch of unlikeable a-holes making "though decisions" that, naturally, always end with innocent people getting killed.
(DS9 levels of darkness are okay, that works)

Also "we found god but he's really an alien" storylines. We've had enough of those in Trek.

No more stories about the dark side of the Federation, Section 31, prejudice against genetic engineering, secret space stations full of sinister projects, or remote-controlled Starfleet ships blowing things up. Let's go find other people who are doing this stuff instead.

No more visits to edgy crime planets. Not because it's a bad idea, I just don't think Trek can be trusted with them right now (except for Lower Decks).

Oh, plus no more legacy characters getting murdered. Especially if it happened after they went off to an edgy crime planet and became a drug addict who owed money to a sexy crime lord or whatever.

No more fun with DNA, consciousness swapping, musical dimensions etc. If I have to turn my brain off to suspend my disbelief, then it's not going to work for me. Lower Decks kind of almost gets a pass, but if I see that bloody koala one more time...

No more doomed romances in prequels.

No more motivational talks or therapy (except in Lower Decks).

No more storylines that stretch continuity, retcon previous episodes, or even make me think 'hang on, does this make sense considering what we've seen so far?'. I don't want to think 'does this make sense?', I want to be enthralled by the events I'm witnessing on screen.

No Gorn.

I think that's because in DS9, people are still trying to do 'the good thing' - they're still striving towards the Starfleet ideals. It's just that they find out grim reality sometimes requires they have to take less ethical actions if they want to survive (e.g. Captain Sisko bringing the Romulans into the war by counterfeit 'evidence' and some people getting killed).

But I would abhor (for example) a re-imagining of TNG where everyone is sanctimoniously paying lip service to Starfleet ideals, all the while while trying to manipulate those around them and trying to expand their own power bases at the expense of others. And even when that might be a good series in its own right, I'd rather not see it as Trek.

The clip that was released from SNW the other day; I’m pretty sure that’s not a storyline I want to see. I hate when Trek does that “magical DNA transforming people” trope.

I also agree with others, I don’t ever need to see another holodeck malfunctions episode and the Mirror Universe has been done to death. I’m also done with bAdmirals and corrupt Starfleet. I also don’t want any more clear gimmick episodes as SNW got carried away with last season.

No mirror universe please. Never understood the appeal other than some perverse pleasure on seing the good guys act ' evil"

No overt mystery box lasting a whole season

No we " Need to save the galaxy " storylines

No dystopiaon dysfunctionality storylines

No soap opera storylines when episodes end with a slow motion montage of "character realization moments " with lyrical la la la music with a narattion telling us exactly how we should feel and giving us an education on how they al tie together. I.e No Grey's Anomony in space storylines

^ This. So much.
I'm so sick of mystery box storylines, have been sick of them for years and years. Especially once that aren't really planned out, but are just made up as the writers (and changing creative teams) go along.

Yep. I don't mind little mini mysteries along the way but yeah slow burning a "big " mystery , especially with little planing is beyond irritating.
