Collecting on Disc: What do you have?

Was about to get TNG but haven't with all of the streaming services now available.
It looks even better on Blu-ray because of the higher bitrate. The Blu-rays also have a huge amount of bonus material and some deleted scenes and extended cuts, some of which are exclusive to the five individual Blu-rays of double episodes edited together.

I realize Paramount is going to Paramount, but it sucks that all the extra features for BOBW and AGT are effectively paywalled like that.

What's the difference on the "Bonus Materials" of the Blu-Ray version of TNG vs the DVD version of TNG?

Does the Blu-Ray ReMastered version have everything that the DVD version has & more?

All the seasons of TNG on Blu-ray contain the special features from the DVDs and a lot of new material. There are some new 1 hour+ documentaries, new audio commentaries, gag reels, deleted scenes, extended cuts of episodes. It's a huge difference.

So is there any reason to own the original DVD's of TNG?

Or should I pass them on to friends & family?

I guess it depends how much of a purist you are. The original DVDs are the episodes as-broadcast in all their SD glory with original SFX etc.

Personally, I got rid of the DVDs when I picked up the Blu-ray complete collection.

TOS Movie Collection
TNG S1-7
Trek Fan collection: Borg
Trek Fan collection: Q
Trek Fan collection: Klingons
DS9 S1 - 7
Star Trek (2009)
Star Trek Beyond
Lower Decks S1 - S4
Prodigy S1 (sets 1 & 2) & S2
Discovery S3
PIC S1
PIC S2

Blu-ray:
Enterprise (complete series)
TWOK Director's Cut
What We Left Behind

I just stream everything else. I would buy DS9 and VOY on Blu-ray to support them though.

I stream everything. A lot of the bonus material can be gotten on youtube for free now. A lot of streaming is HD so it looks great. Im not one for clutter and DVDs cause clutter. Also its nice not having to have a DVD player. Streaming also saves time having to shop for what I would want to watch. Streaming is great.

Unless you are a completist I don't see a reason to hang on to them.

Yes, streaming is great. Until they decide to remove a series you're in the middle of watching. Happened to me more times than I care to remember. So I have some of my all-time favorite series and movies on disc.

DVD: TWOK, TSFS, TMP: DE, TWOK: DE, TSFS: CE, TVH: CE, TUC: DE, FC: CE, 2009

I had nothing better to do so I decided to copy scotthm's idea and graphicalize my collection.

This is almost everything I have on disc, a few bits and bobs left out because I was exhausted by the idea of being exhaustive.

@Tosk Nice collection. And pretty exhaustive indeed. I still have Conversational Klingon and one of the Q books on tape somewhere.

TOS: All seasons
TNG: All seasons
DS9: ALl seasons
VOY: Seasons 1, 4-7
ENT: Seasons 1-4
Movies: TMP - the last Abrams movie, I forget its name. I've rewatched Star Trek 2009 but not the other two Abrams ones.

Trekkies
Trekkies 2

ST Borg dvd game

ST Hidden Evil
ST Armada
ST Elite Force
ST Armada II
ST Away Team
ST Elite Force 2
ST Bridge Commander

I have all of ENT, TNG, VOY and Discovery on DVD as well as both seasons of SNW, first two seasons of Picard, Lower Decks seasons 1-3 (I havent found season 4 anywhere yet) and the four TNG movies.

I used to have the old video tapes that only contained 2 episodes each on them back in the day.
