Top Ten Star Trek Episodes

I've been thinking of coming up with a list of the top ten Star Trek episodes that would encompass the 700 plus hours of all the various series, excluding the films, but including the animated series. I can think of a lot of episodes from TOS, TNG and DS9 that could make the list, but not as many from VOY and ENT. Just wondering what other people's thoughts might be about such a list.

Some of the episodes I have considered so far for the list are:

I agree with your choices as well. Mirror, Mirror, The Doomsday Machine and Amok Time would be good selections from TOS. In the Pale Moonlight is my favorite DS9 episode and also would be a good selection for the list. I do think I need to do some reviews of episodes guides and do some watching as well just as refreshers.

Thanks! I also like Doomsday Machine and Amok Time (well, any ep that features Spock (with the unfortunate exception of "Spock's Brain" ).

DS9's "The Visitor" would be at the top of my list, followed by TNG's "Yesterday's Enterprise," TOS' "Mirror, Mirror," Voyager's "Timeless" and "Endgame," and Enterprise's "Twilight." Oh, and TNG's "Cause and Effect." (I just love watching everyone die in alternate universes.)

Based mostly on top ten lists I've made for the first three series and a handful of "Enterprise" episodes I've seen...

3. "Trials and Tribble-ations" (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)

If the list could include more than ten, I would have thrown in "The Trouble with Tribbles" (my personal favourite episode of the original series, but a little too broad to be considered one of the ten best out of all the shows), and "The Measure of a Man", which I love, but think isn't quite as deep and powerful as later TNG classics (although it is both). I have a lot of affection for "Yesteryear" too, which I think is way better than many, many live action Star Trek episodes.
