Enjoy! :bolian::beer::bolian::biggrin::bolian::borg:

TNG, Season 7: "Sub Rosa"
DS9, Season 1: "Dramatis Personae"
DS9, Season 7: "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges"
VOY, Season 1: "Ex Post Facto"
VOY, Season 2: "Non Sequitur"
VOY, Season 3: "Alter Ego"
ENT, Season 1: "Terra Nova"
ENT, Season 1: "Vox Sola"
DIS, Season 1: "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum"
PIC, Season 1: "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 1" [spoiler tag your elimination reasons]
PIC, Season 1: "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2" [spoiler tag your elimination reasons]

And I've got to start with a save for "Sub Rosa." It really is my favorite of all these. No joke, this, "Yesterday's Enterprise", and BOBW 1 are WITHOUT A DOUBT the three TNG's I've seen the most. It's divinely silly, Gates McFadden completely commits and gives her best performance of the series, and Jonathan Frakes directs the hell out of it. I will save it right away in any most-disliked game where it pops up!

DS9, Season 1: "Dramatis Personae"

I saved Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges in a previous game so I won't do it again here.

Which led me to a problem of not really liking most of the others.

Finally, I settled on saving Non Sequitur from Voyager. I found this episode rather charming, and I enjoyed the implication of a main character having never actually lived the story up to that point despite remembering it. It's not as contrived as the Benny storyline in DS9, which, while clever in its casting of the main characters and turning DS9 into a man's pulp fic, I found to be a little agitating. Harry Kim being stranded on an Earth where he never joined Voyager was more enticing to follow along with.

I also appreciated that he never really "bought in to" the ruse. He knew he didn't belong and he fought toward that aim the entire time.

Melodramatic as I can be,

DS9, Season 1: "Dramatis Personae"

I must admit Odo got the best character development in that story bar none. Not to mention an alien race whose name is associated with a herb used to induce sleep (Valerian! :guffaw:)

What's left:

DS9, Season 7: "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges"
VOY, Season 1: "Ex Post Facto"
VOY, Season 3: "Alter Ego"
ENT, Season 1: "Terra Nova"
ENT, Season 1: "Vox Sola"

And here I was thinking that episode would be a contender for worst!

And I've got to start with a save for "Sub Rosa." It really is my favorite of all these.
"Doctor's Orders" got saved midway through the last round, and now "Sub Rosa" gets saved first?!? I do not understand other fans, that much is clear....:sigh:

I am saving "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2".

The ending with Picard and Data is what hits me emotionally. That scene was just beautiful. I was crying multiple single man tears during it and when Picard takes out the chips. It was hard to say goodbye, a second time, to a character that is so dear to me... the reason I became a scifi fan. At least this time, Data got a much better sendoff than NEMESIS.

And Picard got much needed closure for what haunted him for decades.

(Damn it, I'm starting to tear up again thinking of the scene. Amazing how a mechanical being without built in emotions can evoke so much within me...)

What's left:

DS9, Season 7: "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges"
VOY, Season 1: "Ex Post Facto"
VOY, Season 3: "Alter Ego"

I've always seen "Vox Sola" as one of the handful of underappreciated Enterprise gems. It's only real flaw (a big sequence for Mayweather that the actor isn't remotely up to delivering) is also a strength (a perfectly balanced ensemble ep where everyone is given something significant to do).

And there are few better examples of the wisdom of Enterprise's early "no cheap redshirt deaths" policy.

DS9, Season 7: "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges"
VOY, Season 1: "Ex Post Facto"
VOY, Season 3: "Alter Ego"
ENT, Season 1: "Terra Nova"
DIS, Season 1: "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum"
PIC, Season 1: "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 1" [spoiler tag your elimination reasons]

Just in time to save the great Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges then.

Another suitably complex episode for Sloan and Section 31, with Julian trying to work out what is really going on. I loved that they used the Voyager sets as well. It was probably a budget decision, but it was a nice homage.

VOY, Season 1: "Ex Post Facto"
VOY, Season 3: "Alter Ego"
ENT, Season 1: "Terra Nova"
DIS, Season 1: "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum"
PIC, Season 1: "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 1" [spoiler tag your elimination reasons]

Haven't seen DIS or PIC yet, but of the three I can eliminate, I'd choose "Alter Ego". At first it seems to be Yet Another Holodeck Episode and just when you're ready to groan, it turns out something else is at play. It's nice to see Tuvok parry (and in a certain sense, romantically interact) with a character that is as introverted and intelligent as himself, if not more so, for a change.

VOY, Season 1: "Ex Post Facto"
ENT, Season 1: "Terra Nova"
DIS, Season 1: "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum"
PIC, Season 1: "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 1" [spoiler tag your elimination reasons

Saving “Ex Post Facto”, because while it's mega cheesy, I have a soft spot for it because it's an early Voyager episode and reminds me of my childhood. It doesn't deserve to be at the bottom of this list. :)

ENT, Season 1: "Terra Nova"
DIS, Season 1: "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum"
PIC, Season 1: "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 1"

Wow, both episodes left are quite mediocre. I'll save Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum, just because it had Saru as the focus character, and I really like him.

Terra Nova wins. :techman:

Is it too late to post that you missed a bunch? Specifically:

Also, technically Latin (even if most are referencing the English word): "Miri", "Arena", "Genesis", "Babel", "Vortex", "Paradise", "Tribunal", "Equilibrium", "Defiant", "Rapture", "Chrysalis", "Chimera", "Penumbra", "Faces", "Elogium", "Alter Ego", "Coda", "Rise", "Nemesis", "Vis a Vis", "Demon", "Virtuoso", "Unimatrix Zero", "Q2", "Author, Author", "Oasis", "Stigma", "Horizon", "Exile", "E²", "Daedalus", "Terra Prime", "Lethe"

"Conundrum" is also etymologically believed to have been based on a made-up Latin word.

The Animated Series is the only series not to have a Latin title. Star Trek Nemesis is the only movie to have a Latin title (except neither Star nor Trek are Latin).

I've found myself checking in here on TrekBBS for the sole purpose of seeing if @Sakonna's posted a new game yet. So I think it's worth making a dedicated post thanking them for going through all this work for our benefit. :D These threads have been great.
Me too! And I would also like to thank them for the wonderful diversion they've provided in the last month. Such a lot of fun! :bolian::techman::bolian:

And me! Thank you @Sakonna :bolian::rommie:

Aren't many of those etymologically of Greek origin (and a couple Hebrew)?

That was from a joke post I researched a few years ago. Every word I found crossreferencing a Latin dictionary, with the exception of Unimatrix, which is a made-up word that accurately combines the Latin prefix of uni- with the Latin word matrix. And would likely have the same meaning.

Other episodes since would be Calypso, Q&A (the ampersand being invented by the Romans), and Nepenthe (arguably). Most trace back to Greek or other Indo-European languages (and simpler ones to other unrelated language families). Miri, for example, is probably the shortened form of the English name Miriam (from Hebrew Miryam) and has no connection to the Latin adjective miri (a form of mirus, meaning awesome).

But that was the joke. I was being completely oblivious to the origins of the titles and treating them as if they were either Latin words or not.
