We hear a lot about "Klingon Honor" and "Sins of the Father" explores this. Worf, as he often does, comes off as more honourable than the culture of which he is so desperate to be a part, and Tony Todd makes his first appearance in the franchise.

Saving Invasive Procedures. It gives us more about the Trill, we see a different side of both Dax and Quark, and even a Klingonized Tuvok.

The chemistry between Janeway and Kashyk is enough to save VOY: "Counterpoint" on its own, but I also love all the subterfuge and double-crossing

The cost of Data's soul, if he's got one:

TNG Season 2: "The Schizoid Man"

It's the Soul Hunter, before Babylon 5! Here he's Dr Ira Graves - actor William M Sheppard, who just nails down a character we're supposed to loathe on multiple levels, right down to being able to transplant his soul into a positronic device that clearly has a personality of its own in there (and integral to season 2's running arc of Pulaski growing to adore Data.)

Add in Brent Spiner being Brent Spiner, and the result is an underrated little gem in the rough.

(Also dig the Wizard of Oz quiet in joke, which isn't as glaring as the ones form the season 6 Q episode. But that's not the best reason for this clip...)

Time's Arrow is rather interesting and I liked the resolution of the whole 'Data's head' thing. I liked getting that background information on Guinan and being really, properly introduced to her. My mum is also crazy about this episode and puts it on all the time, so that's something.

"Ensign Ro" gives us background on the Cardassian/Bajoran problem, and has a leading character who is morally conflicted and not necessarily a good fit for Starfleet.

Back before TNG rubberstamped tokened sci-fi,

TNG Season 2: "Samaritan Snare"

The Wesley/Picard scenes flesh out some more of Picard's backstory, allowing for future tales as well.

The Pakleds are almost a parody of the Borg, shown before the Borg no less, and were a parody of not what many might believe at face value. Definitely different, the scene where Geordi is brutally and ruthlessly stunned is also more than what you'd expect and not just in a "space is a dangerous place" mindset, which it still is because it's season 2 and exploring real unknowns.

Not the best outing, contentious for some reasons, but - dang - what Lower Decks did to improve on them was somewhat marvelous.

I love how this explains the why of Lwaxana. It's a very sad story, and it was done very well.

I was going to save "Samaritan Snare” but “Too slow chicken marengo!” (I really liked this one as it shows how learning to survive does not always require a high intelligence but rather could also include a high smarts for subterfuge and leveraging others intelligence).

And, normally I jump in quickly to save a VOY but I was secretly hoping Counterpoint would win this one and was dissapointed.

However, I’ll save a VOY anyway, “Time and Again” because of Janeway's realization that they caused the catastrophe and actually took responsibility and did nothing instead of forging ahead as if they were the heroes.

Saving "Sarek".

Great episode, and excellent performances by Mark Lenard and Sir Patrick Stewart. (How that man never got at least an Emmy nomination is proof the awards people didn't take genre shows seriously back then. And in a lot of ways still don't.)

Saving "Sanctuary", which was a good look at the immigration issue, though not in the way you'd think. The Federation, analogous to the United States, never failed to do the right thing. But I don't fault Bajor for their actions either. The final scene was tragic, but you can't completely blame anyone.

Also, took Time's Arrow II out, since it was previously saved.

I haven't seen it in ages, but I really liked VOY: "Prime Factors" and its look at the Prime Directive but with the Federation (or just Voyager) being on the end of another civilisation's version. Tuvok breaking the local law was a surprise, and Janeway's disappointment was palpable.
(I also took out "Future Imperfect" because I saved it earlier but it managed to pop back in for another go, the cheeky thing ;))

Unification for being the first to show us complexity in Romulans. Everyone beforehand was military or milirary-adjacent and every Romulan was described as paranoid, scheming etc as if it were the species' universal trait. And while elements of deception are societal and traditional there are still civilians just living thier lives being normal people right down to sarcastic shopkeepers looking for gossip.

Wait, "Chain Of Command, Part II" is still here?

Hell, no. It's getting saved now. Patrick Stewart's performance alone is worth the save. Add in David Warner and just watch the awesome happen in front of you.

Never mind... I was beaten to it before I hit 'send'.

I'll take out "Half a Life".
