Suicide Squad part 2 vs Guardians of the Galaxy part 3. Which Gunn movie your most interested in?

WIth James Gunn doing two movies both for Marvel and DC you just know they will invite comparrisons so which one do you most look forward to or you think is going to be the best movie? Also how serious will people take the Marvel vs DC rivalary? I know some will take it to far but for the most part that whole thing is mostly exagerated isn't it?

Me I think Guardian being good to great is a lock so I am more curious about Suicide Squad. What will he bring to the movie and will he try to make it very different from the Guardians movie. I don't think Suicide Squad is going to be the clone of Guardians type of movie like I suspect many do think it will be because why would he want to make the same movie, twice? I think it's actually going to be darker and more edgy humor. I wouldn't be shocked either if it had a horror element to it.

Yeah, I've seen Gunn's GotG twice now, and while I'm up for more of that, I haven't seen his Suicide Squad yet. And me being more of a DC fan is secondary here.

The rivalry between DC and Marvel is silly, though even I as a DC fan who also likes Marvel, am not immune to good trolling, and we all have the pack mentality in us that can be stirred up by others. The internet is not always helping, either, as there are trolls who love to see either fanbase worked up against the other, and there's irresponsible online media that loves to generate clicks by doing the same. And while I know this rationally, I also know that I have buttons that, in the right moment, can be pushed.

I have absolute no interest in ever seeing Suicide Squad so I have even less interest in the sequel, even though Gunn is directing it.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing how Gunn concludes his trilogy for Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm just sorry we'll have to wait longer than we were initially suppose to.

Are you not interested because the first movie was so bad? From what I understand almost none of the characters will be back. It should be a very different movie that is only tangible connected to the first one.

Because i really dislike Suicide squad I have zero interest in the sequel, I am not going the watch it in the cinema.

I love the Guardians movies and would go watch the 3rd movie in the first week in the cinema

Looking forward to Guardians. The most I can say about Squad is thank goodness it will presumably be far better than the first one.

Has to be SS2. GotG 2 was basically "copy what people liked about the first and do it 5 times as much" and it still did well, so I have no confidence he'll course correct. With SS2 there's at least a chance he'll do something different.

GG3 by far. DC hasn't got its A list heroes right yet, so why would I care about D list villains? The first Suicide Squad wasn't even all that good. Make a good Superman movie, then get Green Lantern right, then make a better Justice League movie.

I'm more excited about GUARDIANS, but am curious to see what Gunn does with SUICIDE SQUAD. Chances are, I'll end up seeing both, depending on the reviews and word of mouth.

The whole DC vs. Marvel thing is ridiculous, IMHO. They're not rival sports teams or political parties.

(See also Star Trek vs. Star Wars, Disco vs. Orville, etc. Why make everything a competition?)

I'm pretty sure that there is zero chance of my little group not watching both.

I, too am interested in seeing the Gunn version of Suicide Squad, but I'm also looking forward to seeing Guardians.

They're pretty even for me. I'm one of the few people who actually really liked Suicide Squad, and I can't wait to see what Gunn does with it. Just so everyone understand, it's not Suicide Squad Part 2, it's going to be at least some form of reboot, although how much of a reboot is kinda unclear. No matter what though, it's pretty clear it's not going to be a "Part 2".
I loved both GotGs, and I can't wait to see how Gunn finishes off the trilogy.
There's no way I could possibly choose between Harley Quinn and Rocket and Groot.

Looking forward to GOTG3 a lot ofcourse. I am curious about his take on Suicide Squad, because the first one was a snooze fest I feel.
And, honestly, I don't really even blame the cast or director for that. Mostly I blame the editors, who I feel messed up the most in the DCEU movies. But maybe that's me.

I'm more interested in The Suicide Squad because I love the (older) suicide Squad comics and so seeing a good version of the idea is really exciting for me. I'm sure I'll like GotG 3, but we've had two of those. We haven't had the Suicide squad concept done well (and I say that as someone who enjoys Suicide Squad 1 as a mindless action flick, even though its a terrible adaptation).

I am looking forward to both for different reasons. Guardians, because I feel invested in the characters and I want to see how their arc ends and if the door is left open for at least some of them to return in future space installments. I'd love to see the next phase of Marvel movies develop their space based characters and see an upgrade to the Nova Corps that I've been waiting for for five years.

Suicide Squad because I am interested in seeing what Gunn brings to the property.

Right now, I'd have to say Guardians because I'm really looking forward to the worthy end of that trilogy and because the news coming out about Suicide Squad is just confusing in terms of what they're going for. I do think Gunn has the ability to make a good Suicide Squad film and I am very interested in the possibility because I love the Suicide Squad in general - but his name alone is not enough to already make me 'anticipate' the movie. I need to see more clear indications of what that movie is even going to be, first. Especially because the first Suicide Squad film, while it has it's positives, was totally screwed up not by the writing or direction but by the studio after the fact.

As was BvS and JL as far as I'm concerned.

I would say BvS had some serious writing and direction issues to start with. And JL was definitely screwed up by the studio, but it was not exactly after the fact - it was direct intervention in the writing and direction while production was still ongoing. If Gunn were to wind up off the project while someone else reshot major portions of this movie, that would be an easy and obvious warning sign that movie probably wouldn't live up to anyone's expectations of a 'James Gunn Suicide Squad movie'. But I doubt that will happen on this particular project.

Neither and both. I'm excited to see GotG Vol.3, but I'm also very curious to see what he does with Suicide Squad.
Curiosity for something new and eagerness for something familiar are two very different states of mind and I can't really think how one can supersede the other.
