Bethesda's handling of the PC version was a disgrace. I doubt we'll see a Legacy 2.
Nearly every Trek game since Voyager: Elite Force has been pretty bad. I've grown sick of getting my hopes up for the next trek game by the "next" relatively unknown game maker like perpetual.
Bridge Commander was pretty decent, although it didn't live up to a lot of people's hopes. Many were looking for an open-ended game where you were really "in command" of the starship and could go where you wanted, and instead the game was extremely linear and mission-based.
Also, I always thought that Encounters for the PS2 was a surprisingly good arcade-style game, especially given the budget price (I got it for $9.99 soon after it went on sale).
But the PC version of Legacy was indeed such a disaster that it's hard to imagine that Bethesda can really do the license much justice.
You make good points. The single player of BC was pretty fun, as was Elite Force 2 (although its Multiplayer was terribly unfinished, which ruined the game for me entirely).
