I've stated this in a couple of replies, but, might as well make a full thread on it now.
With the Short Treks moving beyond Star Trek: Discovery and the franchise returning to some of its roots with Picard, do you think we could potentially see some Short Treks focused on characters from previous Trek shows? With Picard featuring Seven of Nine -- something I definitely wasn't expecting -- and then some crazy rumor that Robert Picardo was set to appear, it's clear that series has no problem bringing in characters from the other spin-offs, thus opening the door for others to appear.
I have no doubt that Picard will make reference to Deep Space Nine and Voyager in dialogue, but, I see no reason why some Short Treks can't made to be centered on some of the characters from those series. I would never expect a sequel series to DS9 or Voyager to be made, so, Short Treks seem to be the best bet.
And while it's set long before either one, perhaps we could see one featuring the characters from Enterprise in the years after the finale.
Just something to chew on.
Thoughts?
