I didn't pick either TOS pilots because they weren't premiers. And "Man Trap" isn't a great episode.

I just rewatched them all, if I had to include the non-actuals, I think I'd go:

1. Corbomite Manuever
2. Context is for Kings
3. Where No Man has Gone Before

Aming the actuals, Remembrance was much better than I remember. Might bump Caretaker or Broken Bow.

And Pike's address to the warring factions is one of Trek's finest speeches, ever.

If you are referring to Picard crying in "Sarek", not only was it near the very END of season 3, but it wasn't even crying because of Picard feeling sorrow. It was because of the flood of emotions from his mind meld with Sarek. I think the first time we see Picard cry because of feeling his own sorrow was "The Inner Light"... next to last episode of season FIVE.

Still, the beginning of the fourth season is quite a long time.

In no particular order: "The Emissary," "Caretaker," and "Strange New Worlds," followed not-too-distantly by "Lost and Found." All do an excellent job of setting up their characters and situations. I don't remember "Beyond the Farthest Star" very well; only "The Corbomite Maneuver" stands out amongst the TOS entries and it wasn't a premiere; "Encounter at Farpoint" was dull; and I remember being frustrated with "Broken Bow" because of the lighting, of all things -- there were scenes where I had trouble seeing what was going on. "The Vulcan Hello" and "Second Contact" actually had me start off by disliking the main characters. Haven't seen "Remembrance" or "Runaway."

Emissary is like a fantastic little movie in itself; deftly introducing the show’s key characters and elements and a plot that captures the very essence of Trek while packing an emotional punch. Sisko teaching the wormhole aliens about linear time and coming to realise he must let go of the trauma of the past is genuinely quite moving.

If I had to rank them all, I’d say number one is “Emissary”, number two is “Caretaker”, three is “Encounter at Farpoint”, four is “Broken Bow”, and five is “The Cage”.

The Emissary is still the best pilot Star Trek even produced, followed by both Caretaker and Broken Bow.

I have to go with Broken Bow. I thought it set up Star Trek: Enterprise perfectly. I was a compelling story and had me asking many questions when it was over.

I wasn't a huge fan of Broken Bow (certainly not compared to the previous three Berman pilots). But I appreciate the love that it's getting here.
