my storage water heater broke today. I guess the water pipe is blocked by a piece of chalk.
not happy-ish, you think? Last time I had plumbing trouble, a valve had broken and the water leaked along the pipe through 2 levels of the house. This time the wall is dry (yet..) and I have insurance. Yay!

Going for a walk with a good friend which I just did today.
It was so fun to talk with her. We haven't seen each other in ages.
So nice to get all caught up with her and her family again.

A warm cat purring in your lap. Or two cats if they get along and you have a big enough lap.
Your kid falling peacefully asleep in your arms. Or another kid you're close to if you don't have your own.

And if these things are unavailable for whatever reason, a hot fudge sundae will usually work.

That's true.

This is what cats are for. Not that the beagle we had for many years wasn't into sloppy kisses (my grandmother kept freaking out about that). But most of my cats have been very affectionate, some of them turning out to be enthusiastic face-washers. My current cat does this, so I think I must have the cleanest nose in the city. It gets washed multiple times a day by a little black housecat named Maddy.
