And some end thoughts that were interesting about ownership. Do people actually not care about owning the games you buy? At least games on GOG they at least have made an effort to let you download and keep the game files on your own storage and the ability to make multiple copies for backups. I'd like to see other platforms do that kind of thing but nah that would never happen would it? /s

I've been using GOG a fair bit, even before I had my new PC. One point towards GOG and their no-DRM policy is that without DRM, games generally run much better, something I was really noticing quite a bit with my older PC at the time, and with that same PC, I would sometimes have trouble running Steam properly.

I noticed that with things like Cyberpunk 2077 which I recently got back into, but do not like the launcher they put in the latest version it's full of junk

Latest version of Cyberpunk you mean? Wouldn't GOG Galaxy be used as a launcher? Or do you mean it has something else entirely?

I downloaded the offline installer for the most recent version of the game. That gives you the option of playing the game all by itself without the Galaxy launcher or you can use that to launch the game too. I do that for all my GOG games.

What I meant is when you start Cyberpunk a huge splash screen comes up with lots of options asking you to click on various things and you don't have to do any of that but then you have to hit the "Play" button on that screen to play just the game. that's what I meant by it now has a launcher

Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, that would be pretty annoying. There must be a way you can make a shortcut straight to the game exe rather than the launcher.

Usually with GOG you can but this game caused me issues, nothing deal breaking but still. I just use the launcher it only takes a couple more seconds out of time.

I think when I eventually get the game, it will be for my PS5. That way I can avoid the annoyances of the PC version, including the launcher you mention.
