Enterprise TV Movie

BTW, Trip supposedly dies in 2161 and Romulan War happens prior to that, so there's absolutely no reason to exclude him. Plus, in 2161 the NX-01 gets decommissioned anyway and everyone goes their own way.
Okay. When it works, it works...
It's all in the writing. I can see Trip having some close scrapes during the war, then poignantly dying in a realitively insignificant misadventure. A few historical figures go that way, like Lawrence of Arabia involved in a motorbike accident or Mountbatten assassinated by terrorists. But however it happens, much of that holodeck recreation needs to be wildly inaccurate... to do his character any justice. Taking a EM rifle bolt in the chest... for his Captain and closest friend, or something.

Who knows, maybe this hyperthetical TV Movie could be told from Trip's perspective... a dying man whose life is flashing before his eyes. Or maybe resort to that whole Desperate Housewives, dead person narration approach.

If not a TV-movie, I could easily go for a direct-to-DVD and BluRay movie done on the budget of a good two-part episode with lots of space battles. Somehow I think ENT in filmed format has been killed off for good, but if there's any hope left after the new movie comes out in theaters I can go for either a special, one-time TV movie or something to go out and buy on disc.

Or even an Internet download?

Yeah, I wouldn't care about the format, either. Direct-To-DVD would be a viable option, I think. Futurama and Farscape have set precedents for that.

That would be interesting, but I don't need to know about that much of Trip's life (a lot of which was already covered by Sim). It should focus on a new story (Romulan War?) and not try to overreach

Trip' Tucker is NOT Enterprise, no matter what his most ardent fans might think.
:wtf:

Enterprise doesn't need him.
:wtf:

Earth needs Enterprise, Enterprise needs Trip. It's as simple as that.

No, seriously, ENT without Trip... I personally wouldn't be even remotely interested in watching it, or reading about that (and I'm pretty sure I'm in a majority here, because it would have been much more practical for Pocket Books not to resurrect Trip in the relaunch, but they did it anyway).

No kidding! What the hell would be the point of an "Enterprise" movie without Trip and correcting-no, erasing- the "Valentine to the Fans?!" Two hours of Captain Jonathan "Daddy's Boy" Archer and his boring crew encountering another forehead of the week?!? No thanks!

My "Enterprise" TV or direct-to-DVD movie would be a Trip and T'Pol feature, could care less if the others were on it...okay, maybe Phlox and Porthos could make an appearance. In my humble opinion, Connor and Jolene were Enterprise!

Nothing you've seen will ever come back as a main feature. Someone might get namechecked and that's about it. The future will add into the canonical storyline not revisit it. Right now it all belongs to Abrams so as for TV its not happening.

Now that's a dedicated little fanboy speaking...
Just because you don't like them, you just can't change the facts as they were laid down by TATV, no matter how bad that episode was. Tucker is dead and remains dead. Period. The circumstances of his death might have been different due to a not entirely accurate historical holofile, but he remains dead nevertheless.
By the way, if an ENT movie would be about 'encountering another forehead of the week', Tucker's presence in it wouldn't make any difference anyway and we could skip the movie altogether because THAT's something nobody wants to watch!

Complete and utter rubbish...
A Trip and T'Pol feature without the others in it? Two hours of Love Boat, set in outer space? Why in the Nine Circles of Hell would anybody want to watch pubescent tripe like THAT? If I wouldn't despise the word so much, I would have to call that idea 'highest-grade fanwank'.
Connor and Jolene were Enterprise? You have watched ENT - or Star Trek in general - before, haven't you? Sorry, but that's not a humble opinion, that's downright delusional. Get real!

With Trip out of the way, there will be more room for sexy T'Pol, Phlox feeding his animals, Archer watching water polo and telling Porthos he can't have cheese (but gives in anyway), and more self pity from Malcolm

Who knows, Mayweather and Sato may even get a line!

Nice, real nice. Got issues?

Newsflash - it's all fictional, everything can change (Not that TATV is exactly hard canon now, isn't it, but who cares anyway).

Whats wrong with fanwank? We got a 150 million dollar fanwank coming may 8th, what's wrong with that?

And you get civilized.

Your point being?

I believe that this conversation is completely hypothetical since I don't see anyone spending money to make an Ent movie. Now, hypothetically, suppose somebody decided to do so, wouldn't he try to make it as good as he could? And wouldn't he try to keep a big part of the - not so numerous- fans of Enterprise as happy as possible?
So he would probably try to find a good story, a good director and whatever is needed to make the movie interesting and artistically compelling. And he would try to find a way to use Trip to keep the fans happy - me included. It would be the logical thing to do.

If they ever did one, it should be a direct to DVD or a TV movie.
They would have to include Trip, since he was a big part of the show and probably the most popular character going. It would have to completely rewrite that crappy TATV and give us a build up to the Romulan War.

Forgive me my friend, let me repharase that:

In my humble AND delusional AND schizophrenic AND meglomaniacal AND paranoid opinion- CONNOR AND JOLENE ARE AND FOREVER WILL BE ENTERPRISE!! HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!

Well, I didn't want to formulate it THAT drastically...

Fact is that this is supposed to be an Enterprise TV Movie thread. If some people have problems with 'Trip' Tucker's death, they should go looking for or open a dedicated Connor Trinneer thread, where the can whinge and whine about the injustice that happened to their darling. That way, the grown-ups can continue with their serious debate, without being constantly disrupted by immature tantrum-throwing teenies (or people whose conduct is all too similar).

Troll much? :vulcan:

Movie set before 2161/These are the Voyages... - Charles 'Trip' Tucker III is alive.
Movie set after 2161/These are the Voyages... - Charles 'Trip' Tucker III is dead.
It's as simple as that. Debate over.

Um, APRIL FOOLS?

Future of Trek please.

Forget April Fools and any joke that may have been intended.
This is a topic that serious fans have already, are, and will be discussing as future Trek canon even though it will not happen.

I do not think we will see this idea get greenlighted.

Getting back to the topic, its very unlikely we will ever get to see an "Enterprise" movie either on TV or direct-to-DVD. But its not unprecedented- the Terminator franchise has "Terminator Salvation" movie and the "Sarah Connor Chronicles" on Fox. The director of "Salvation" McG commented at Comic-Con that although the two are different, he has no problem with the Terminator series on Fox and the two don't conflict. Although "Sarah Connor Chronicles" doesn't get high ratings in its initial run on Friday nights, it gets a big increase in DVR playbacks and those same fans are going to see Christian Bale in "Terminator Salvation." Its a win/win for everybody, personally, I don't see why Paramount can't do the same, not only with "Enterprise" but howabout "DS9" or even Riker's "Titan" as separate features? To paraphrase Alec Baldwin in "Glengary Glenross"- "money is out there waiting for you(Paramount) to pick it up" or something like that!

...then again, I am delusional, so what do I know?!
