Modern productions look better. The 2009 movie revived Trek also I like early DSC, SNW and LD
Good as answer as any. From the trilogy, I loved 1 and 3, had problems with 2, but still enjoyed the story told. From the modern streaming shows, I've liked what I've seen so far. What I've yet to see is Disco S3-5, LD S3-5, and SNW. What do you think of Disco S3-5, Picard, and Prodigy?

Yes how can I miss Prodigy, great, great show the best out of the new shows. For me , in order of worth rewatching
PROD
SNW
DISC
PIC
The movies; I enjoyed 2009, tolerated STID and considered BEY a lost opportunity.

Lol, I am confused, too. Don't know about a Star Trek trilogy
Well, there are three trilogies, depending on how you look at it.
Star Trek II through IV make up a trilogy.
First Contact through Nemesis can be the Enterprise-E trilogy.
Star Trek (2009) through Beyond also makes up a trilogy.
Any 3-parters in the various shows could also be called trilogies.

Frankly, it's looking even more obvious that the newer Trek will not have the staying power of the earlier Trek.

Unless a large number of new-Trek fans are not responding to the poll. JJ Trek et. al. is doomed.
I think the newer Treks will go down as memorable as the older Treks. The difference being is that the 1987-2005 had those hardcore Trekkies who love models, reference books, nerdy websites like Memory Alpha, go to conventions, buy merchandise, and it goes on and on. The "new" younger Trekkies who are watching the streaming Star Treks aren't going to be that kind of diehard fan. They're just looking for kewl streaming shows to watch. At most, they might chat about it on social media and find Memory Alpha.

I think the Kelvin movies are doing really well! 1% of the franchise's total run time, but 2% of the vote. Of course they've only got the one vote so far, but that just shows how tricky it is to draw conclusions when your sample size is only 52 voters.

I don't think a poll like this would necessarily indicate that new Star Trek isn't winning people over anyway. A 'favourite ice cream' poll may be dominated by vanilla, but it doesn't mean people don't love mint chocolate chip and raspberry ripple as well.

As a Niner, the TNG/DS9 Trek has always been my favorite. I think that's why I was so crushed and disappointed in how horrifically bad the Picard series was. However, ironically enough, I am really enjoying SNW. I don't plan on watching a minute of Discovery, but I am curious about Prodigy.

EDIT: I ended up watching seasons 3 through 5 of Discovery. Actually, not quite as bad as I thought it would be. Not great, but not bad. I found the dialogue and some of the characters irritating, but some of the story ideas weren't bad.

I've seen the first two seasons of Discovery, why not give the opening 3 episodes a go?
What was so bad about Picard? Have you watched Lower Decks?
I recommend Prodigy if you liked Voyager and if you like animated shows.
I haven't started Strange New Worlds, but I hear good things.

I have to wake myself up to go somewhere for Thanksgiving. Still tired as Hell. Have to get my mind going.

Depends on what we're talking about.

  • Picard is the one I'm most likely to re-watch. I've added it to TNG and its movies, in my mind. PIC will never be far behind if I watch FC or one of the other TNG Movies. From now on, whenever I go through all of the first 10 movies (which I do from time-to-time), Picard Season 3 will always be next. I'll add Legacy to PIC if it gets made.

  • I'll re-watch Disco at least once more. I might re-watch it again (in pieces) after that too. But, realistically, it'll be a while before I do. If I like the S31 TV Movie, I'll add it into the Disco mix.

  • The rest of the Kurtzman series? Probably not. I haven't even watched all of it a first time.

  • Never say never, but I'm not interested enough in the Kelvin Films to re-watch them again.
