What is the best enterprise season and why?

Despite the fact that most people find the later seasons better i think the first two are best simply because i hate the long drawn out temporal cold war with the xindi. It seems to just be over the top.

Season 4 is the best one I think.
The Xindi arc gets a bit repetitive in season 3, but season 4 has some great three episode arcs. I realise there's a lot of hate for the finale, but it terms of a good to middling to bad episode ratio season 4 has some of the highlights of the whole of Enterprise.

The third season all the way. Like all the seasons to some degree, but season three is where I first felt that the show had found its own voice, purpose and raison d’Être. They did well (albeit not completely flawlessly) on creating an interwoven storyline for the season, which was a first for Trek on that scale. I also thought the Xindi were a wonderfully creative idea and I really liked their designs.

Season four on the other hand, despite being hailed as the best season most of the time, wasn't that satisfying to me. It relied much too heavily on blatantly referencing Trek lore to the point of fanwank. I don't fucking care, for example, about explaining Klingon makeup changes or a lame story about the guy who invented the transporter.

I think the fourth is the best. It is really what the show should have been all along. Many episodes were focused on the necessary steps that led to the Federation.

I did love the Xindi arc when I first watched it, but as far as a season that I can go back to I'd definitely pick Season 2. By the personality and dynamic among crew members was more established, and those episodes are all good stand-alone episodes to go back to. I don't necessarily feel like I would want to go watch a single season 3 episode without going back and watching the whole Xindi arc in order.

Without a shadow of doubt, I'd pick season 3. As others have already said, the Xindi arc is amazing. The lengths Archer and his crew went to protect Earth were very admirable and entertaining. The Xindi are actually my favourite "enemy." The fact that they had different species Xindi with different characteristics made it all grander if that's a word.

I like this question. I think Season 3 is amazing when it commits to the main storyline, I think 4 is the most fun for the smaller storylines it attempts and just overall vibe but I think 2 has the most amount of my favourite individual episodes in it. So really all I can say is I like 1 least.

Season 2 or 3, I think that's where everything peaked. The acting can feel awkward in the first season and I didn't like the Suliban very much. most of my favorite episodes are in season 2, and many in 3. The acting and stories in season 4 got really over the top. The Vulcans became emotionally unstable and crazed in every scene in the Vulcan 3 parter. Although "Home" is one of my favorite episodes. I also like the united arc, and who doesn't love the mirror episodes.

I'm gonna go with season 2. There are so many gems.

Series 3 for me! Loved how they took their sweet time unfolding the Xindi story. I always looked forward to scenes in the war room where Archer and crew would fit the next couple of puzzle pieces together.
Series 4 is my next fav.

Season 4. All of the mini-arcs were great (especially the Augments arc and Romulans arc). I wish the series could have more seasons after 4 as this was the series at it's best.

The 3rd season is the best, the Xindi arc was great.
The 4th season was the worst, I'll never understand all the praise it gets, I've said it before, it became the TOS/TNG reference hour. These are the Voyages is actually a fitting finale because the entire season wasn't really about Enterprise and its crew anymore, it was about the larger Star Trek universe.
