Trek XI is a Time travel movie???

The more that comes out about this movie the more questions are raised. I think its a time travel movie. Here is why I think it is.

Main one: Abrams and Nimoy both say Shatner wont be in the movie. Nimoy actually says old Kirk cant be in the movie because he died in Generations. But old Spock can because he died but was brought back to life in Trek III.
If this was just the early adventures of Kirk then where would a Old Spock play into. The way I have heard it he will play old Spock.

One way I could be wrong I guess he could play Spocks Grandfather. But that don't really jive because old Kirk could also play he own father.

Why would Nimoy say the main reason is because Kirk died in Generations? Really think about those words and then tell me this just the early years of Spock and Kirk.

Also Paramount cant get over old ideas it seems. Star Fleet Academy. Was going to be a movie then a series. Now you have at least very young Kirk and spock maybe at the academy. Then you had Enterprise Time Cold war. From there ideas that there was going to have Picard in a episode traveling back to Enterprise. It was later scraped. Besides Trek creators love time travel episodes.

Am I just flying without wings here or is my theory a little sound?

This is JJ Abrams we're talking about, he likes to use something called FLASHBACKS a lot. Ever watch LOST ?

You're definitely flying without wings.

The best way to look at this is to watch the movie Titanic and realize that the old woman you see at the beginning and at the end of that movie is the same character as Kate Winslet's character.

I can see it now a old Spock sitting infront of a fire cave with his Vulcan robes and sandles with a book in his hand telling the story of Kirk;)

This makes no sense whatsoever. Not only are you without wings, you've already crashed.

Or it could be neither...

Old Spock causes a spacial anomaly that expands as it reaches back in time threatening the destruction of humanity. Young Spock and Old Spock (from their respective time eras) must work to avert the disaster.

See, no time travel, no "Story time with Uncle Spock" style flashbacks. :p

Oh dear god, not that, These Are The Voyages sucked big time, please let's not even pretend that's a good idea.

* Just got ill thinking about that *

Old Spock visits the Guardian of Forever again perhaps? Already used in TAS's "Yesteryear," of course, but that wasn't "canon."

My sources say that the film will pick up exactly where TATV leaves off. Expect numerous references to ANIS, Threshold, Shades of Grey and Nemesis.

Rick Berman will be consulting producer, Garrett Wang may direct a few scenes and Richard Arnold will be on hand to make sure that Leonard Mailish sues everyone involved.. Oh and David Gerrold will claim he came up with the original story and Harlan Ellison will write a book on how it was rewritten.

Today in the news, Angry Star Trek fans burn down Paramount, film at 11.....

In other news, The Ghost of Gene Roddenberry has been seen rotateing at high speeds on soundstage 9....

Gene "Valentine to the fans my @$$"

It's time travel in the holodeck!!

Only if they tell the TRUE story of Trip Tucker!!! None of that holo-fanfic nonsense they tried to sell us.

Trip died at the age of 108 after single-handedly holding off a horde of rabid Klingons to defend a defenseless colony of fluffy bunny rabbits, after having fathered 27 children with T'Pol (Trip, not the rabbits and/or Klingons).

Trip Tucker was Future Guy and the one armed man (he wore a prosthetic). He also knows who killed Kennedy and Marilyn. Trip broke up the Beatles.

And the bulk of the plot will turn around an attempt to recover both Spocks brains, which were stolen by beautiful women to run their weird underground civilization . . .

Now that's just plain silly. Never happen.

Im not saying it would be a good Idea. Just saying it looks like its adding up to be it. That or the other idea of Flashbacks. I really hate thoses
