The OFFICIAL ST:TNG Theater Screenings In July 2012 thread

As it was mentioned at the beginning of June by Maxwell Everett in the official TNGR discussion thread there will be 2 episodes of the newly remastered TNG screening at cinemas in North America.
I mentioned what those two episodes would be the next day.
The two episodes will be:
- Ep. 106 - Where No Man Has Gone Before
- Ep. 114 - Datalore
Here is the official website link from AMC Theatrs and NCM Fathom and you can type in your zipcode to find the closest cinema.
there is a link to the trailer there. not working as of this morning. July 23 is the date of the event. It says July 17 and is incorrect.

Trekmovie just did a posting about this with new promotional stills and a trailer.

On July 23 in CANADA too
and the Youtube 30 second trailer link directly. (only in 360p) It shows a few brief video shots that are half-screen only and is really about 15 seconds with the remaining being graphics.

keep in mind
Star Trek: The Next Generation 25th Anniversary Event on July 23rd will be broadcast using Fathom’s DCN (Digital Content Network) and shown on digital advertising projectors, not the primary 2K or 4K cinema projectors that films are shown on.
Depending on the cinema itself it may be on a 2k projector but you should ask first before you purchase your ticket. TNG-R is remastered to 1080p/24 frames. A 2k projector would look better showing this than the digital advertising projectors FYI.

discuss.

This is AWESOME news! I was so bummed out becasue it didn't look like there was any hope of getting a screening in Canada.

I am so going!

Why not? The TOSR version of The Menagerie played here in Canada. :) I'm still waiting to see if Empire Theaters will pick it up here in the maritime provinces. Greater chance of them not doing it here again than in central and western Canada.

Heard that some cinemas in Australia are also doing it. I know there is one on the Central Coast, but not Newcastle or Sydney yet. Will share this information with friends.

I'd be even happier if Empire carried it here. They have much better screens than Cineplex.

Do you all think this is something i should definitely pre order? Im worried about going to the theater and finding it sold out

edit- eh i might as well play it safe and pre order, even though i never do that..

As always...we here in germany get left out of all great events. :-(

dunno about that, you guys get some amazing conventions from what I've seen.

It was announced here at a convention on the weekend, and a groan went through the audience when they mentioned Where No Man Has Gone Before was one of the episodes. :D

All those locations that have been added, and the closest one for me is three hours away. Just not worth the drive for me. I look forward to hearing reviews from folks who are closer.

I'm pretty pumped to see it, especially the special behind the scenes stuff. I even talked my Dad into going with me!

Still no word on any showings here on the Eastern coast of Canada. :( I thought for sure that Empire Theaters would have picked this up again.

^ I was hoping they would too. They have much better cinemas than Cineplex. Still, beggars can't be choosers.

I hope they do end up doing something for the East Coasters. Good luck!

One would think they would choose at least one of the more popular action-oriented episodes like Yesterday's Enterprise.
