Streaming TOS with the ORIGINAL 1960s visual effects?

For me, it's part of the prime video package. I was surprised to discover the old effects there about six months ago. As far as I know, they're still there.

I'll have to check it out. Between the interface and only offering the new effects, I really dislike watching anything on Paramount+.

Amazon Prime has the original TOS effects.

Paramount+ (and others) has the remastered effects.

Heh! Can anyone envision CBS putting out discs of TOS with the NBC Peacock intact - the way it appeared on network TV!?
Realistically? Probably not, but other shows of the same vintage have had "network versions" included that you could choose. These would include the in color intros, network bumpers, ads and previews for the next show. The Twilight Zone Blu Rays include ads for other CBS shows, like Wanted Dead or Alive and The Danny Thomas Show.

NBC would be delighted, but only after CBS ponied up a fat licensing fee to use the Peacock. I don't see it happening.

There was an example of this in the vfx for King Kong (2005). In the Times Square scene, they wanted to include a Columbia Pictures billboard that was visible in the 1933 film, but Columbia played hardball, so Universal Studios put their own period ad in its place.

Hmm. Using that template, if they were doing a night-of-broadcast release, CBS would substitute its own color bumper.
