Vulcans spent more than ninety years after First Contact treating humans like we're all Florida Man and want to rig moonshine stills to spacecraft to use as warp drives and it took a human rescuing the Kir'shara containing Surak's most important teachings to smack some sense into Vulcan society.

23rd and 24th century Vulcans are still racists and dicks but they're less so to humans.

This was a good deal better than I expected. Certainly plenty of comic relief of a metafictional sort. And yet completly serious, and it certainly does much to set up not only "Amok Time," but also "What Are Little Girls Made Of."

And it's definitely better without the deleted chewing gum scene.

I forgot to discuss this point when the episode streamed months ago; Vulcan's sister planet T'Khut is finally canon!

I hope a future SNW story will finally explain the tacky name 'Delta Vega' from the 2009 movie as an obscure and unpopular alternative designation for T'Khut's moon, T'Rukhemai.
"Delta Vega' was a mining planet where the Godlike Gary Micthell was killed by James T. Kirk (see TOS S1 Where No Man Has Gone Before). Scotty mentioned he made the 'run' to Delta Vega once earlier in his career; and in ST2009 Kirk found Scotty in a mining facility.

My point: There's no 'explanation' needed as Spock was (somehow) of Delta Vega when he 'saw' (probably in his mind as many Vulcans died) as Vulcan disintegrated. There's zero need to tie anything from ST2009 to SNW as they are different timelines entirely.

Is this going somewhere? I don't feel that you paid attention to my writing at all.

And I don't think you even read the first line of my reply where I explained what significance 'Delta Vega' had to Star Trek. You wanted an explanation to the 'tacky name Delta Vega...' in ST2009. I posted the background on the name and why I think no explanation is needed.

Correction: that was Captain James R Kirk ;)...
What? Only if you believe the failing memory of a crazy God-like being.

I mean, what next?

Are you going to tell me Vulcans can't lie because Spock told said lie to a Romulan Commander in TOS S3 The Enterprise Incident - even though he himself already lied in TOS S1 The Menagerie, and his father Sarek (a full blooded Vulcan) lied in TOS S2 Journey To Babel?;)

And you mocked me for having a take. So no, I do not take you seriously.
