There is one under 4 miles from me. I will check out the ticket prices today, and decide then.

Jeez. No way would I spend $9 to see a 30+ year old show on the big screen, even if it's Trek.

With the most respect, you remind me of my nephew when he was 5. We took him to a college football game which he loved. When a few weeks later we said we were going to another game, he announced he didn't need to go because he'd already been to one.
It's more than the story. It's the experience. Haven't you ever gone to a movie in a theater just to see it with other people? It's the size, the sound, the popcorn and the sticky floor. When do you think you'll ever be able to match that experience again with a Star Trek episode?
Say it's $15 to get in and you spend an extra $10 on food and drink. It's not unusual for me to spend $25 a person on going out to dinner. It's just a different experience.
The football game analogy obviously quickly breaks down. We know what happens to Spock, Pike and Vina. But to sit in a crowded room with a bunch of other Trekkies, enjoying one of Star Trek's finest moments like I may never experience it again, yeah, that's worth $25.

I've SEEN the original show already. I own it on both VHS and DVD (paid for.) I absolutely refuse to be gouged AGAIN for something that was aired 30 years ago and may have a handful of special effects changes.
I'm surprised at Trek fans. Is there no limit to what you'll let Paramount take out of your wallet?
I'll watch remastered stuff on TV. But fucked if I'm paying for the ep....again.
Ummm, it's being shown on Saturday, October 13th.Broccoli said:
