"Tendi is summoned back to Orion for a wedding." - TrekMovie.com

The Orions have been a part of Trek, literally since day one and we've never seen their homeworld until now. This link talks about the pressure and challenges involved in finally bringing it to life since it's not just another planet of the week.

Didn't we see a holographic version of Orion's capital or something in one LDs episode?

Last time I heard the word "Grandmama" was more than 30 years ago when Larry Johnson played her in Family Matters. To hear it on Lower Decks brings back all kinds of nostalgia.

Fun episode, but I wish a little more was done with the ship that is destroying the various other ships. Maybe that's the point of the mystery, but someone has to start noticing this happening, right? Maybe this is what leads to Badgey's return later in the season?

Mariner being stabbed was funny, but just hanging out with Tendi made this episode pretty good. The Mark Twain stuff was cool too.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the aliens being Flanderized. Like I get that it's funny, but I kind of wish it was smarter than "Orion women release a scent and men act stupid". It's just a weird tonal shift when they're trying to actually tell a story about how you shouldn't stereotype people.

It's the same with the Klingon and Romulan Lower Decks that we got in the second episode (before they got vaporized).

The B-story was silly fun though, and also a bit of a strange cross-reference. You'd think it'd be Holmes, or "Dixon Hill" if they wanted to go for the holodeck joke. But I dunno, maybe it's just as simple as letting the actors do the stupid accent. lol

How is Mariner a magnet for getting stabbed?

Ransom stabbed her in the foot in S1.

She got hit 3x in the right shoulder in a single ep.

I was hoping for some "Hm, Hmhm, Yeehhss! *smack* WOO! Ha." stuff from one of the Twains, that would've made it a 10 :D

Well the joke is that Orion culture is proud of its heritage and it's Tendi who is actually the one who is kind of an oddball.

It's the reverse of "don't stereotype" people. "Don't assume they care about your values or feel shame in theirs."

Another 8.

I love Tendi, so was happy we saw more about her family and traditions on Orion. Seeing as Tendi is more of an outcast of her family by being so bright is an interesting facet of her.

The mystery enemy is building speed. We know they're tough as shit as they are taking out Klingons, Romulans and now Orions.

Perfect roomies Boimler and ERuthorfod declaring war over how to water their awesome-looking Bonzai had me in stitches.

T'Lyn is quite aesthetically pleasing in Orion garb. :)

I had noticed this also...

That was a fun episode, maybe a little lightweight but there's nothing wrong with that. Both A and B stories worked for me, the Twain twinning was ridiculously left field. Nice to see T'Lyn relax a little and I liked that she threw her report away.

Mariner becoming a knife magnet reminded me of the guy in Archer who constantly got shot!
