BSG is a good show but I've never felt it to be exceptional. It's got too much filler in it; hell in the second half of the third season they didn't meet the Cylons for like 9 episodes or something. There's also very little action, and the tone is uniformly bleak. I have been enjoying this final year a lot more, though. And I loved the New Caprica Occupation episodes.

Of course, I'll admit if there isn't some kind of action in an episode I'm not going to be interested... LOST being the outstanding exception to that.

How did this thread completely fail to mention Sliders?

I do think the mid-late '90's were the best period of sci-fi TV, although the recent resurgence may supplant it, in my mind.
