^Unless she really is the pretty young blonde lab technician that Gary Mitchell almost got him to marry.
I agree about most of that, except maybe for the old flame and son. Given how old the son is we can assume that the "romance" happened way before the "five year mission" and that's why we never heard of it.
Except they screwed up the name: Joachim instead of Joaquin. Though I supposed it would be like calling me Miguel instead of MichaelI also neglected to mention that I didn't think Marla was the only Mother of said crew, just that Khan was the father. Khan certainly seems to be the kind of man that feels one wife isn't enough.
And I though son Joaquin was named after freind Joaquin from Space Seed who was killed.
Sources I found have Joachim being used in Poland, Germany and France. It Seems to have been popular in that form throughout Europe while Joaquin seems to be only Spanish.Aren't Joachim and Joaquin both Spanish names, though? You're suggesting more along the lines of James and Jacob. The same name, actually, but the former is the Latin version, while the latter is from the original Hebrew. Joachim and Joaquin are more like James and John.
I could be wrong, I admit.
Interestingly, Judson Scott insists the name Joachim be pronounced "Wah-KEEM", yet Spanish speaking Ricardo Montalban pronounced it onscreen as "YO-ah-kihm". Judson Scott must not have been paying attention to his leading man.
