Hemmer Character Teaser

I guess they might not be comm badges but Starfleet unifroms are suppose to be badge free until Wrath of Khan.

Here is how things will work, imo.

The events of the timeline, from ENT to TNG will remain the same: Pike will eventually end up crippled from an accident, and James Kirk will become the next Captain of the USS Enterprise, etc.

However, the aesthetics of the show won't be exactly like it was, as it was presented back in the 1960s. Ergo, you'll have metal badges (NOT combadges) instead of stitched shirt patches. Also, no holodecks, though there are now holo emitters (stationary).

Basically, this show will be like TOS, but only if it was a brand new show, circa 2022.

I hope that clarifies things.

As we know, TAS introduced the Recreation Room that was able to simulate other environments and weather ("The Practical Joker").

And those three-sided desktop viewers (in both TOS and TAS) in the Briefing Room were called "tri-dee viewers" in Alan Dean Foster's "Star Trek Log" TAS adaptations, so the images on those screens were 3D, even though we couldn't see the 3D effect on our 1960s and 1970s TV screens.

Nope. It's based on the TOS engine room.

(T'was but a jooooooke....)
But with some grain of truth in there, considering Kurtzman has been involved in 2 movies & oversaw 3 live action series in different timelines and eras and nowhere was a straight warp core to be seen.

Just a funny observation, don't take everything so seriously.

With that circle bit at the back, this is what the Orville's engine room should look like!

Also it's Kelvinverse engineering huge, they've either made the Enterprise even bigger again or they're just hoping we won't notice.
Is it much bigger than the TMP engineering forced perspective set? It's not exactly a beer factory.

Hemmer seems cool. He comes off a bit like early Saru (fine with me). Love the casting of a blind actor and looking forward to what he brings to the Aenar. These character teasers have been great and this is my favorite so far. Cast is shaping up to be pretty solid from what little we've seen.

Technically, the actor is not blind, just visually impaired. He has no vision in one eye and reduced vision in his other eye. He's actually a fairly accomplished painter!

I mean, we had that CG monstrosity in one of the short treks.

Yeah that was awful.

I really dig the current set. It looks very engineer-y. Lots of technical stuff. And no low-tech water pipes like in a brewery. It's looks like a proper spaceship engineering.
