With that circle bit at the back, this is what the Orville's engine room should look like!
Bruce Horak is playing him, providing way too rare authenticity to his part as a blind individual.
I guess they might not be comm badges but Starfleet unifroms are suppose to be badge free until Wrath of Khan.
Nope. It's based on the TOS engine room.Kurtzman Trek is afraid of straight vertical warp cores confirmed!
Also, no holodecks, though there are now holo emitters (stationary).
..so the images on those screens were 3D, even though we couldn't see the 3D effect on our 1960s and 1970s TV screens.

Is it much bigger than the TMP engineering forced perspective set? It's not exactly a beer factory. With that circle bit at the back, this is what the Orville's engine room should look like!
Also it's Kelvinverse engineering huge, they've either made the Enterprise even bigger again or they're just hoping we won't notice.
Hemmer seems cool. He comes off a bit like early Saru (fine with me). Love the casting of a blind actor and looking forward to what he brings to the Aenar. These character teasers have been great and this is my favorite so far. Cast is shaping up to be pretty solid from what little we've seen.
TMP, actually. But that's irrelevant, as they were already wearing badges in seasons 1 and 2 of Disco, so why wouldn't SNW follow suit?I guess they might not be comm badges but Starfleet unifroms are suppose to be badge free until Wrath of Khan.
I mean, we had that CG monstrosity in one of the short treks.Kurtzman Trek is afraid of straight vertical warp cores confirmed!
Looks really good though. Very technical.

Technically, the actor is not blind, just visually impaired.
So, there's a work uniform or non-com uniform or something:

Yeah, while he might not have zero vision, is he still legally considered blind? That status is not an all or nothing thing afaik.Technically, the actor is not blind, just visually impaired. He has no vision in one eye and reduced vision in his other eye. He's actually a fairly accomplished painter!

Maybe we can find a way to work him into canon as Louvier's predecessor?I'd prefer it be Moves-With-Burning-Grace.
