Hell's Kitchen Season 9 - Anyone watching?

I've watched pretty much every episode of the season up to tonight (what can I say, summer TV sucks especially when you have just basic cable!)...an I'm just in shock over tonight's elimination of Jenn. Elise...I can't stand that cow and how she ever made it to the top four is just little short of a miracle.

Honestly this whole season's been kind of...weird. People who didn't deserve to get eliminated were, and other people who should have been eliminated long ago weren't. Elizabeth, who couldn't even pay attention long enough to listen to a client's dietary requirements when menu planning (who feeds pork to a vegetarian and thinks hawaiian=asian?!) was nearly in the top 5. Carrie and several other decent red team chefs were run out by Elise's vendetta. Elise played the game, and has played it real well, being very subtle with her sabotaging of the other chefs and building of alliances to eliminate stronger chefs (even tonight she did both).

What I don't get how Ramsey hasn't seen through this and kicked her off yet. She's in no way suited to run a kitchen and why he's let her get this far other than ratings I don't know. All I know is I'm not watching a finale with her involved just to see her smirk and cry her way out of being eliminated AGAIN.

Anyone else watching and angry about Elise as well?

Because, regardless of what the prize or theme is, this is first and foremost a television show. Elise and the conflict she creates makes for good drama. She won't be eliminated until late to preserve the drama she brings to the show. Another example of television intruding was also in tonight's episode: producers, having seen the exchange between Elise and Will then Elise and Paul, obviously told Ramsey to poll the team over which chef should go home. It's all about creating a narrative for the show.

It does seem like a very weak crop of chefs this year and that they are going more on entertainment rather than actual cooking prowess.

Still though, my man crush on Gordon Ramsey remains strong as ever.

I know it's about ratings and all but I can't stand the bitch Elise. I don't think she'll be the winner. it'll come down to paul or will and tommy should've been the one to go home last night.

Will will win. Elise has been kept purely for dramatic reasons and to continue to increase tension among the contestants and push them to be better than they are. I agree this seasons groups seems to be one of the weakest in the show's history. I've been watching sporadically for that reason. We've had HK threads in the past but I guess this one created close to the finale indicates the lack of interest this year.
