But there was that half hour you spent in the 90s trying to figure out if it was faster for Janeway to head for the other end of the Bajoran Wormhole, rather than in a straight line for the Alpha Quadrant.
I'm sure there are people, even intelligent and educated people, who don't know how big the galaxy is.
If she's more or less equidistant it makes sense for her to head straight for the alpha quadrant. When she left we were allies with the Klingons, so she'd be in friendly, charted space much sooner than if she headed for one very specific point surrounded by she knew not what.

I don’t know, for me the whole everything is wacky 24/7 has started to feel a bit lazy with the characters becoming flat and two-dimensional as the situations don’t really require that they fully engage them.
