Computer's voice

Majel Barrett-Roddenberry... a lovely, graceful lady who also played Nurse Chapel and Lwoxanna Troi (Deanna's mom). She has also produced television series such as Andromeda.
She is the wife of the late Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek, Genesis II, etc.

Actually, Judi Durand does the voice for the Cardassian computer system aboard DS9. Majel Barrett Roddenberry does the voice of the computer on the Defiant, Runabouts and other Federation/Starfleet vessels and installations.

Odd how Shelby Leverington's voice (Chief Brossmer TNG - The Next Phase) voice sounds exactly like Ms. Durand's.

btw, Judi Durand also did the voice for the Space Dock Controller in Star Trek III: TSFS

the voice for the Computer in TNG,DS9 etc

Majel was also uncredited as that voice in TOS. For TAS she shared the role with Nichelle Nichols.

Check out the scene in "Manhunt" (TNG) where Mrs Troi talks to herself to attempt to enter a holodeck.

She and Harve Bennett.

actually Harve only did the voice of the Enterprise computer. He did this in the Kobayashi Maru simulation (ST II) and, I believe, when Kirk is accessing the ship's logs in ST III.

This is of course in addition to his live action role as Admiral Bob (ST V).

Ah ok thanks for the info guys, i always thought the computers voice sounded rather like the women who plays Kai Winn in DS9

I always loved the computer's voice. It sounds silly, but I always looked forward to hearing the computer talk. They even managed to squeeze her into Enterprise in the mirror universe episodes.

oh, I also thought Roxann Dawson did a great job as the computer voice in the episode "Dreadnaught" and as the station computer voice in the Enterprise episode "Dead Stop".
