"Cause and Effect" Line-by-Line!

Greetings!

We've recently concluded our "The Homecoming/The Circle/The Siege Line-by-Line" thread over in the DS9 forum!

After each completed thread, I'm randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was Vanyel! And Vanyel has chosen the "Cause and Effect" as our next line-by-line adventure!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, I will pick someone at random from among all the participants to choose the next episode we do.

RIKER: Damage report!

 

[Leandar]

Beverly: Casualty reports coming in from all over the ship!

 

[Admiral Shran]

DATA: The starboard nacelle has sustained a direct impact. We are venting drive plasma.

 

[Leandar]

Geordi: Initiating emergency core shutdown.

 

[Admiral Shran]

RO: Inertial dampers failing. We're losing attitude control.

 

[LeadHead]

Riker: This is the Bridge, All Hands to Emergency Escape Pods!

 

[Leandar]

(Enterprise gets knocked around for a wild spin)

Data: Core shutdown is unsuccessful. We are losing antimatter containment.

 

[Admiral Shran]

LAFORGE: We've got to eject the core!

 

[LeadHead]

Data: Ejection Systems offline. Core breach is imminent!

 

[Leandar]

Picard: All hands abandon ship! Repeat, all hands abandon...!
(Enterprise goes BOOM!!!!)

PICARD: All hands abandon ship! Repeat, all hands aban...

(The Enterprise explodes.)

Yet somehow after commercials...The Enterprise is back!

Captains Log Stardate 45652.1 The Enterprise has entered an area of space known as the Typhon Expanse. We are the first Starfleet Vessel to chart this unexplored region.

(Riker's quarters - Data does a fast, professional shuffle)

Riker: Sometimes I wonder if he's stacking the deck.

 

[Enterprise1981]

DATA: I assure you, Commander, the cards are sufficiently randomized.

 

[LeadHead]

Worf: I hope so.

 

[Enterprise1981]

DATA: Eight, Ace, Queen. The dealer receives a four.

 

[LeadHead]

Worf: No bet.

 

[Vulcan Princess]

DATA: Eight, Ace, Queen. The dealer receives a four.

Data: Ten. Seven. No help there. A pair of ladies for the Doctor. The dealer receives a nine. Doctor? May I remind you since you show the highest hand, you control the next bet.
