Bones and The Finder Simultaneous Viewing Order?

Hi. I'm (re)watching Bones right now, and while I still have a ways to go until I reach that point (currently being on Episode 12 of Season 3 - The Verdict in the Story), I want to watch both the 7th season of Bones and first and only season of its spinoff, The Finder, simultaneously. However, I can't seem to find any information that would allow me to determine how best to do that, which has led me to come here and ask the question: Does anybody have any suggestions on the best/proper viewing order for watching Bones S7 and The Finder S1 simultaneously?

Once you've seen the episode of Bones that was a backdoor pilot for The Finder, it doesn't make a jot of difference what order you watch it in. I think there is one episode with a crossover, but it doesn't relate to anything important happening in Bones IIRC.

Thanks for the reply.

The perception out there is that Bones is a show that you can watch in any order because it's a Procedural, but the reality is that it actually has far more in common, structurally, with a Serialized Drama (I.E. Buffy the Vampire Slayer) than it does with a Procedural Drama (I.E. CSI) even though it uses and adheres to the trappings of a Procedural, making it imperative that things be watched in a certain specific order (which in most cases is Production Order) and therefore making it important that said order line up with the Production Order of The Finder, especially if one intends to watch the shows simultaneously, which is what I'd like to do.

I have the Production Orders for both shows, but need to determine how best to intermingle things so that what crossovers there are line up internally within the specific Production Orders for both.

I forgot that Bones even had a spinoff.

But yeah it doesn't seem to matter much to to each other what the viewing order is.

I think, most of the time, they try to do crossovers on related TV shows in such a way there's no real link to "when".

I liked The Finder. A shame it didn't last, though the pilot was better because of the Australian girl.

And anything with Michael Clarke Duncan can't be bad.

It looks like there were two crossovers — Sweets appears in the second episode, and Hodgins shows up in the sixth. It's been ages (or at least seems so) since that season of Bones, but I don't remember any corresponding absences on Bones by either character, or any references to The Finder or its characters after the backdoor pilot.

Since The Finder was aired largely out of order, the crossovers with Bones actually happened as episodes 1x05 and 1x09, respectively.

As far as viewing order goes, I'm thinking about making up my own using Buffy and ANGEL, SG-1 and Atlantis, and TNG, DS9, and Voyager as a model since nobody seems to have any suggestions on how best to intermix the two shows.

My suggestion would be to start with the episode of Bones in which the new characters are introduced, then watch the first official episode of The Finder. I would probably assume that time is progressing at about the same pace in each series, so I would switch back and forth between Bones/The Finder episodes. Unless there are any two-part episode of either series; I would watch those back-to-back.

I've come up with a tentative order that has the 13 episodes of The Finder alternating with the first 13 episodes of Bones Season 7, although I just thought of an alternative where I go with two episodes of Bones S7 for every one episode of The Finder.

Thoughts?

But isn't there only 13-15 episodes (or maybe even less) of Bones that season due to Emily's pregnancy?

^ There were 17 eps produced for Season 7, but only 13 of them aired; the remaining 4 were held back for Season 8, but ought to be watched as part of S7.

BTW, I've finalized my viewing order:
Bones S6

The Truth in the Myth (B619)
The Pinocchio in the Planter (B620)
