Big Bang Theory

He may have got the Stardate right, but I think they missed the actual year by about 4 decades, though Sheldon did say something about "Pre-Federation reckoning" that I totally didn't get.

That episode was on last night here and I caught that and went and checked it out. Apparantley it looks like they used the TNG stardate method (which is suppesed to start from 2323) to convert the stardate given which is how they incorrectly came up with the 2328 year when of course as everyone should know TOS stardates work differently to TNG dates.

How could they honestly make a mistake like this? tsk tsk

Well it's relative ain't it? Time used contextually in it's own system with or without respect to another system before all this retroactive continuity started balking about.

I need Penny and Sheldon to do it.

Just the look on her face the next morning as she realizes what she's done would be quite priceless. :)

Sadly it looks like The Big Bang Theory will be up against one of the show's it referenced next season.

Terminator is its competition now.

Just watched the season finale and I have to admit I hope this show goes on for 4-5 seasons minimum because its fast becoming one of my favourite shows and with Scrubs ending in 2009, I need a replacement comedy.

Wow well you guys have convinced me to give the show a try, and by the sounds of it, I'm going to really like it! It's also a major plus that it's getting a 2nd season. One of the reasons I hardly get involved in new shows is that I don't want to get too involved, only to have the show cancelled.

No idea if this was the season finale, but thank god they settled that "romance" arc. I almost figured that they'd drag it out as long as How I Met Your Mother... when no one actually gives a crap how the dude met his wife.

TBBT was the season finale and even though I think it will get canned next year unless it gets a timeslot swap, I will watch season 2 because I am hooked.

Well, the same could be said about 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Daughter. After awhile the title is only a casual reference to what the show evolves into.

"I AM her gay friend!"

"What are you going to do with a broken iPod?"
"Sell it on eBay like everybody else."

Sure, but the gimmick gets old fast. I can take a romcom with some dude falling for a girl and blah blah blah because it's 2 hours. But dragged out over an entire year? It gets tiring after a while.
I imagine that they'll end up just "friends" ala Seinfeld next year, and that will be perfectly fine with me. At least the Leonard character can be more than "will Penny think I'm a dork?" every other week.

Loved the ep. Loved the series.
Looking forward to S2.

There are so many fun things in the series. I love when Sheldon explains the experiment to Penny in detail, and yet his explanation to Leonard. It shows true friendship. I wonder where they will pick up in S2. Will Penny and Leonard date, or will we fast forward thru the summer and have them pick up after their relationship has ended. I for one hope to see Leonard and Penny dating.

I was looking at Mark's ratings thread for this past week. Wow, it's looking kind of bad for TBBT. I guess people just didn't come back after the strike. I guess maybe it was just a "habit" show and once the strike came along, people broke the habit.

Looking ahead to S2, for Leonard, "getting" with Penny is going to take a long time. She's the kind of girl who will suffer a relapse and dump Leonard for a hotter, handsome jerk.

Co-creator Chuck Lorre seems pretty hip when it comes to sitcom lore as well as the nerd in-jokes.

Has he ever publicly acknowledged that Sheldon and Leonard are named after producer/actor Sheldon Leonard who co-produced classic TV hits like Make Room for Daddy, The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Andy Griffith Show?

EDIT: Never mind. I found the Big Bang Vanity Card with it.
