Best Season three of all the series

Well for the second season in a row Star Trek won, this time with 35 percent of the vote with DS9 second at 18 percent.Star Trek won hands down for the first two seasons and this will obviously be the last poll for them. Can they make it three in a row for a clean sweep?

For me the answer is no because I think it was one of the worst seasons in the hisotry of all the series and there isn't enough space here for me to elaborate. I have to go with TNG for Sarek,Sins of the Father,Yesterday's Enterprise,Best Of Both Worlds,The Offspring,the episode where crusher is trapped on a planet with terrorists(can't remember the name),etc... DS9 comes in at a close second .

Another vote for TNG, its third season was when it turned itself around, became a hit, and inaugurated the much beloved Michael Piller era. Beloved by me, anyway.

TNG's third season had so many huge hits and so few misses that I have to give it the edge. The other series all had strong third seasons, too, but here's how I'd stack them:

Can't see anything other than a TNG win in this one.

Personally, after TNG, which is waaaay ahead of the other season 3s, my next choice would probably be Enterprise. The character writing was still relatively poor, but the ongoing narrative was one of the show's high points.

DS9 and TNG are pretty equal for me. Funny how TNG got better when Piller arrived and DS9 got better when he left.

Me too. The smug superiority complex that the characters had the first two seasons were replaced by likability.

For the first time ever in these Best Season polls, TOS loses, for me.

The 'turd season' of the original series gave us such unforgettable (for all the wrong reasons) gems as Spock's Brain, The Way To Eden, and And The Children Shall Lead. Sure, there were a few great episodes, like 'The Enterprise Incident' and 'The Tholian Web', but overall the Fred Freiberger year was pretty dreadful.

Ironically, the third season is when the other Treks started really turning themselves around. TNG started finding its way in Season three, as did DS9, VOY, and ENT. The Next Generation wins this one for me. But the others had pretty good third seasons, too.

Yeah, DS9 and TNG both hit their stride in the third season.

Tough call. But I went with DS9 because the crafting of its third season seemed particularly careful in regards to the future story lines of the show.

Well, after this is where it gets interesting for me. TOS has definately my pick for the best first two seasons, DS9 for the seventh... but anywhere inbetween it's a duel between TNG and DS9 every time. I'm sure I'm not alone there.
