Season three is awesome

I'm posting this now as I head into season six as I know there's lots of good stuff coming and my views my get more complicated on the best seasons. But as of the end of season five... I think season three is possibly the best.

There's no real clangers I would say. Meridian isn't popular I know but I don't mind it and the weak episodes still have something decent to say.

But The Search - gives a fresh, higher budget vibe to DS9 and gives us the founders. House of Quark is fun. Equilibrium remains one of my favrouite episodes. Second Skin DS9 awesomeness. Civl Defense - always found this one fun. Past Tense - a solid two parter, well regarded. Heart of Stone is a cool mystery. Improbable Cause and Die is cast - need I say more? Shakaar, okay we can't win them all every season has to have its clanger. The Adversary - a phenomenal finale.

And what i also love about this season is they clearly start adding structure for the later seasons and various arcs but they almost do it in plain sight. I think the writers were sneaking it in almost under the radar as they pushed to become more serialised.

The season is a perfect mix for me of humour, intrigue and cool science fiction concepts and the one where I was really eager to watch the next episode each time.

Season 3 was awesome. It just continued building the Alpha Quadrant universe that Season 2 started, and episodes like Second Skin are so underrated. Why can't we talk about Second Skin being the best Garak episode the same way as The Wire or In the Pale Moonlight. That was just Andy Robinson having a grand ol time. Improbable Cause/Die is Cast is my second favorite two part episode of the series, behind it's follow up, In Purgatory's Shadow/By Inferno's Light. I also appreciated the episode Defiant quietly setting up that two parter while also advancing the Maquis storyline.
