BBC release Episode One Prologue

Oh so it's not Pompeii. Someone told me it was Pompeii. I kept thinking of the Sybaline sisterhood which the 10th Doctor knew very well.

It was ok. I was hoping for a little bit more, but with the series coming back next week I guess they didn't want to overdo it. I do wish though the Sisterhood was actually featured in an actual episode. Maybe they know where Gallifry is, which I hope is the arc this season.

I thought they had featured in an episode, "The Brain of Morbius"

Yes, they were originally introduced in The Brain of Morbius, but I think sjsharksfan39 means in the current show. We've only seen them in this prologue and Night of the Doctor mini-sode, but not a regular episode.

I wonder what this says of the Sisters.. Are they immortal? From the Doctor's perspective it's been at LEAST a millenium since he first met Ohila, just as the Time War was getting serious for him. Timey Wimey and all that, but my impression was that certain more advanced species generally stayed in the same-ish temporal step with each other, such that they do tend to meet in the same order.

Also, the "Making of" clip confirms that Ohila will be in the episode proper, as they show her filming a scene which wasn't in the prologue. I wonder how they get around.

Also, upon rewatching Series 8 and now this clip, I've come to realize how much better the Doctor looks in his "street magician" outfit over his "stage magician" clothes. It just hangs on Capaldi's frame better and fills out his skinny frame somewhat... While I don't think it's very Doctorey as wardrobe goes (what is though, really?), I've come to prefer Twelve's costume variations over his original outfit.

Keeping judgement for when we see him in the upcoming burgundy coat and / or wierd check trousers, in motion.

Completely agree, street magician over stage magician any day!

Eh, I really dislike the informal, "hanging around the house" attire. Easily the worst attire for any Doctor. He looks like he's getting ready to stay home and watch some TV, not save the universe. His more formal attire, on the other hand, is really cool, and actually looks like something The Doctor would wear. The clothes aren't a deal breaker or anything, but the more he wears real Doctor-like attire, the better.

I also prefer his formal attire. The contrast of colours, especially the red, really makes it look sharp.

I think you know which one that actually is, even if you have professed a certain... fondness for it.

Hey, at least the coat is something unique, and you can argue that an alien has different tastes than humans (Timelords in general have very stupid formal address). You look at the 6th Doctor, and he stands out. The 12th Doctor's weird informal attire is just generic clothes he could buy at Wal-Mart to wear when he's eating breakfast on a Saturday morning.

Also, just because you hate the coat doesn't make it the worst costume, that's why people have different opinions. Give me a flashy, unique costume over stuff the average guy has in their own closet any day of the week. He's The Doctor, he's not supposed to dress like a human on their day off.

Nine's outfit didn't blow my mind, but I think it looks decent enough. I mean, I don't expect every Doctor to dress like a magician or wear a cape and frilly shirts or wear a bow tie, I just think the 12th Doctor's informal get up is WAY too casual human for the ancient time traveling alien.

An intentional choice by Capaldi. He wanted his costume to be something fans could mimic cheaply and easily.

On this subject, I must say that I love kirk5555's photo profile. I wouldn't want to see Nine wear it for real, but I love the manipulation.

I'm in the camp that likes Twelve's hoodie/sparkly shirt combo more than the formal magician look, but the latter looks better with the new Hartnell-esque pants.

I prefer 12's look at the end of his first episode. The "street" look doesn't really work for me. I also prefer his hair at the end of Deep Breath too.

Yeah, I thought it was cool when I found the original pic online. I also have 8th, 11th and 12th variations that I'll probably end up using as Avatars eventually

Well, it definitely doesn't make for a good Doctor costume, regardless of the reason:shrug:
